Do you think cog fog can improve? πŸ€”

If so... why? And...

What do you do help improve your cog fog? πŸ™ƒπŸ€—πŸ’•πŸŒ

I play word games, like Wordle, and I like to think that quilting helps me, Jesmcd2 . There are days when things are difficult, and I give myself the time to recover. My spouse helps me so much as well. Keep Smiling :-D

Yes, I improved when I quit Ocrevus. I improved again when I took Mavenclad. I have experimented with fasting/ketosis/ketogenic diets for the last 5 years, and clearer thinking is one of the benefits.

I agree with you regarding the fasting/ketosis/ketogenic diets. Also some meds will cause cog fog.

I have not got MS but experienced brain fog after I had chemotherapy for cancer. I found it so frightening as I could not remember my way around places, I usually have a great sense of direction and I could not remember my pin numbers for any of my bank cards. I stopped driving places in the car. However for me as it was the chemo that had caused it, it did lift. I remember playing Sudoku and doing quiz books. Take care I know how frustrating brain fog is for my husband who does have MS he is great with old skills but learning something new or taking in information is a struggle.

I like to make notes on my phone, and add appointments and stuff on the calendar with notes too on where the appointments are/whether they're by phone. I also have the email address of my MS nurse, and I don't think she minds when I email her just to double check dates of appointments.

Cog fog can improve. Some medications cause it and may need adjusting. Fatigue and stress are also common causes. For me, when cog fog descends because of too much input, I stop what I am doing, pause, withdraw or retreat to a quiet place to regroup. To try to stay sharp, I work jigsaw puzzles, crosswords, read, write, draw from life, play piano (read music)...at 83 I have many challenges, but if I cannot live independently and solve my own problems, I'll be in deep trouble. Be kind to yourself. When cog fog descends, don't panic. Find what works for you, to calm your fears, and the fog will lift. Hugs, dear Jesmcd2!

Maybe. I like hope, even if it's delusional.

It doesn't affect me all of the time.(at least that is what I think)

I often trig out problems in my spare time -not! ;D

I do puzzles, study ceramic glaze formulation, wordle etc..

I write a ton of notes for many things because there's no way I will remember.

I had severe cog fog for a year and a half or more. Was so bad I could not read, or even watch a program on television because I would get lost. Couldn't get thru a simple program, more less a movie I could even stop and pause if needed. I noticed that if I stopped eating entirely till dinner, I could stay clear of it, or at least it wasn't so bad. But a simple thing like one egg, nothing else, and away I went into the "fog". But if I sustained till dinner, I could at least get thru the day. I started juicing fruits and veggies using a cheap juicer to hold me, and that did not trip the cog fog. Then I progressed to vita-mixing the same fruits and veggies. With time I was able to continue eating mainly fruits and veggies, with lean meats, fish, and seafood.

It's been years. I now read I may have accidentally done a "gut reset", which did the trick?

Anyway, that's my story, and I stick by it! LOL!

My fog seems to be rolling in. I went to a bridal shower just a few days ago and could not, for the life of me, remember how to get to the street. I kept driving and found that the street I was on turned into the street I was looking for! Duh!

I do diamond paintings! Not for long periods of time, but maybe 15-20 minutes a couple times per day. That seems to clear the fog & help me think straight about other things I have to do. I don’t know if it actually helps, but I tell myself it does so that’s good enough! This is just an example of one I’m doing for my husband because he loves dragons.

Love it!

This reminds me of cross-stitch. My wife has done a couple of dragons for me.

Hi !! I play numerous games on my phone everyday. Word games, crossword puzzle games, solitary, trivia, coloring and color sort. I don’t have cog fog but I do occasionally forget things. My neuro loves that I play the games and he says they help. My legs don’t work well, my left hand is not working right but my brain still works. I have to remind my family of that often when they don’t listen to my words of wisdom. 🀣 Mama is physically handicapped but not mentally so they better listen to me!!

Good luck with whatever you try!!

I take a total of 1200 mg of Alpha Lipoic Acid, which is supposed to be helpful for brain health. I quilt, which forces me to usually follow a pattern and use math, and I do occasional crossword puzzles, online puzzles, and a little solitaire. When I feel the cog fog rolling in, I just make myself take a break so I don't make costly quilting mistakes. Taking the pressure off as much as possible helps reduce "thinking fatigue" for me and greatly reduce frustration.
