Brain Fog, Cog Fog, Brain Fa*t. No matter what you call it, pretty sure you have had it. Ohh it's horrible π at not so oportun times. It can be pretty funny if you let it tho!
Lately, my favorite fill in words are, ummm, yeaa, nope and that. You figure it.π€£π I don't care what it's about! Ummm, yeaa, nope. That.
What are your favorite fill in words, when you forget? I know you have them! π€£

I was hit especially hard cognitively, so it's been life changing, and I have the pain of remembering my "old self". When I forget a word, which if often, I may google the word if there's time, or describe the word as best as I can by its characterization. Like, "it's that red, shiny fruit that keeps the doctor away". 'Oh, apple, you mean! My methods of communicating are shrinking; it's hard to type, read, talk clearly, etc. It used to be such a strength I had. Very humbling!
That has been one of the most frustrating parts of MS. I have one friend who really understands, so she's very patient during our conversations when I have a lapse of concentration, or when I say, "give me a minute" over and over while I search for a word. With other people, I find I tend to avoid talking much when the fog is at its worst.
I hate it when I can't follow instructions, as when reading a quilt pattern. I'm afraid I have to give up for a while until things make sense again. I'd like to say I am patient with myself, but I still find myself in tears at times.
I can understand your pain greaterexp reading directions, and complicated ones at that? π Read 3-4 times at least! And then again! π When before, it was sew easy.π€ππ
No, I hold up a finger (by my face, not in the danger zone) and smile, say wait...maybe a nod or grimace if itβs taking a bit. I hate fillers, they sound like scratching a chalk board to me. I feel like the person word searching also gets hung up on the filler word and loses track more easily or becomes frustrated at sounding βlike an idiotβ. Sometimes I will sound the letter of the word Iβm trying to say if I know the person Iβm talking with can help me...then itβs like a game and I gesture for them to guess and high five if they get it right π
Cog fog is frustrating when I cannot do what I once could do without thinking! I always struggle to find the words and I often use the French word for it or the English one but now I have trouble finding the word in any language. Keep Smiling
That could be confusing eh? π I'm sure finding the right words in any language is frustrating carolek572 let alone 2 π but you can always stop with the French Canadian eh? π€£ Then you only have to worry about one! ππ€ππ
Like I said, it's not that simple, eh Jesmcd2 and I cannot afford to lose any more friends! Just teasing you, but not about considering you as a friend
My family has learned to play that game (lmho- canβt remember the name of it!), you know, where you act out each word? Itβs become common place with me and we getting good at!
Itβs hilarious the word that pops out instead of the right one! Frank just acts like the right one was said. I say, wait I just said something stupid. His response, yes, I know, but I knew what you meant (well, most of the time he doesπ€£
