When the brain doesnβt engage and the mouth does, or vice versa then I am in big trouble, Β Jesmcd2 . I am finding that when I am overwhelmed, this cog fog gets exponentially worse. Itβs frustrating, to say the least.
That's called diarrhea of the mouth & constipation of the brain. I also suffer from this. π€ͺππ€£Ps sorry π for being so graphic, but it applies.
you all are describing all of it ...thank you now i know i am not loosing it ...thank you but it does make things very hard to tell someone....love and happiness is all we want to have ...
Y'all are probably tired of listening to me about food & how it has affected me. I have found that sugars & carbs will give me brain fog and also pain meds like Tramadol & Meloxicam. I've also learned that fasting will stop the brain fog after about 12 hours. I regularly fast one day a week now & I'm feeling so much better. Fasting will naturally put our body into ketosis where it needs to be. You don't really need a keto diet. Moving down off my soap box nowπ
I saw a friend at church & was trying to recall a friend's name that I see every week who is mutual friend. Remembered her name when he left & totally embarrassed. Groan
My problem is pronouncing names. I "see" them in my head, because I've always had a thing for words, and visual works better for me than hearing anything. Anyway, for many years my job had a regular caller named "Evie". Honest to God, I mispronounced her name every single time, even when she had just said it. The lovely woman always laughed, but as someone whose name is frequently mispronounced I always felt so bad about it. I did this for YEARS and she never once complained. If you're out there, Evie, I'm sorry!
I have long conversations with the dog and then suddenly stop and ask him what we were talking about. The day he answers me I'll know I've completely lost it.
I was reading your post and, I'm sorry, what was I saying? π. But seriously, the brain fog, which I call "cotton head" is so frustrating. I constantly forget simple words like "table". I always know the word in my head and can say the first letter, but I cannot get the word out. Drives me crazy.
π We get it! Changing the names of objects, people, places can be frustrating... But its Not your fault! So make up a word for table and call it a humming bird! And smile! π€ππ
