Hi friends!

Wow, it has been quite awhile! So sorry, but I’ve had a lot going on this year. Just wanted to stop by and say hello to everyone. Long post, but lots to report!

First, my dad passed away somewhat unexpectedly at the end of January. He had been chronically ill for awhile, but we weren’t expecting him to pass. He had nothing planned or arranged. My sister and I had to hire a probate attorney on top of planning a funeral. The last several months were spent going through and cleaning his house and luckily, selling it, paying bills, figuring out passwords and his taxes. We’re still going through probate! I’m told it’ll take up to 18 months 😫. Super grateful my sister and I are close and get along.

My little one turned 5 in June! She’s in kindergarten. Hubby and I decided homeschool would be best, so I’m now her teacher too! It’s challenging, but so fun! So now, I’m still working part time as a nurse in the evenings and a full time mom/teacher during the day.

Next month will be 4 years since my MS diagnosis. What a ride it has been! I’m finally doing better with the Rituximab infusions and I’m down to only one infusion a year! I had one small reaction the last infusion in July.

My husband and I decided to put together a home gym and I’ve been back to lifting weights. I’ve been feeling so much better getting in weight workouts. Also following a very healthy diet. Yearly checkup/physical with my neuro confirmed the changes I’ve made have kept me going and even improved some of the tests he performs. After the walking test, he was laughing and told me I did better than a “normal” person…ummm, ok, but I’ll take it 😂

Not sure why, but the heat hasn’t bothered me much this summer! I’ve been able to be outside a lot and even do morning walks/workouts in the SoCal summer. I’m going to say it’s from the lifestyle changes 🤷‍♀️

Hope everyone is well! To God be the glory!

Jessica

Sorry about your dad. That’s a big thing in its own right. Otherwise you seem to have things pretty well organized and covered. You sound great. Keep up the good work.

The passing of a parent is never easy. I am so sorry. It's wonderful you and your sister are a team for this.

As to the rest, Wow! A super woman! You do more than I could, even before MS! Good for you!

Sorry to hear about the passing of your dad. I'm glad that you have someone to help you go through the paperwork, filings, etc. We had to do this for my grandpa and his wife (no will was ever found as they said that they had one). Great job on the workouts and staying healthy!

So sorry for your loss.

I am trying to do the same with Ocrevus, once a year rather then twice.

Sounds like you are doing well, especially with diet and exercise! Enjoy the homeschooling!
