hi! I take Gabpentin is what I am prescribed now but before I got that and had so much pain I used Aspercream with Lidicain. It helped me greatly. I hope you find something that works for you!

I was going to suggest something like this. I've had good luck with Icy-Hot, but there are other creams that could also work.

Xvettech in reply toNorasMom

I use Icy-Hot for my constant lower back pain. I was hoping oh it’s part of the MS. But no. The ms meds haven’t touched it. But Icy-Hot does. I used the Aspercream for my back. No luck. I went back to Icy-Hot. I will forever smell like Cousin/Uncle (I can’t remember) Walter 😂. But it clears up my sinuses too 😂

I hope pamgarner, you find some relief! This hurts!

I take Tramadol as all others, (gab, tizanidine, baclofen, lyrica, cymbalta... did not work. I like to be able to take something when or as needed rather then daily that has to stay at a certain blood level.

Crazy as it sounds I have also found that a vibration device I ordered on amazon works quite well for burning and stiffness. Just standing on it for five minutes can ease symtoms.

tramadol makes me sleepy and so does toradohl.I sleep my life away as it is but thanks

And I don't know if this is just me being weird or not, but I sleep with a hot water bottle on my lower back and/or use an electric heating pad on my lower back during the day. If I skip it, I wind up with a lot more pain and stiffness in my legs the next day.

I'm currently using the Equate brand from Walmart. I got the XXL that's $30, but they have a slightly smaller one for only $20, sold both in stores and online. I love mine. It has 6 heat settings and can be set to go off after a certain length of time. It also has an automatic shutoff so that it won't run forever if you walk away and forget about it.

I was going to share a cbd cream that I use when my neck and back really start to bother me but when I went to look up the info to give you a link, the company no longer sells cbd products and can not find out why. I hope that you are able to find something that gives you some relief. Please keep us updated when you can.

I take baclofen, 10mg morning and 10mg at night, just to help with the spasming legs alone! I've not yet reached the burning pain stage, hopefully won't ever, but I'm open to trying anything that helps if it comes to it.

i did have spasms up the front of my leg i never had that. it is an adventure daily huh?

Cwright170994 in reply topamgarner

Yep! Thigh or knee! And it's usually a sign I need to go to sleep 🙃 would work if I could actually get to sleep when that happens! Otherwise, a walk downstairs, do my "nighttime" routine again, maybe take another baclofen, and back to bed 🤞

I use CBD rich hemp flower and vape it using a vape tool, heating it just enough to release the oils....still well below burning. Works like a charm. I get it via online order from a place in Nevada. A few puffs and it is instantly gone. Do so essentially every nite before bed. If I don't, I know we'll the pain from burning feet... Easily found via Dr. Google. I started after all the same other drugs stopped working and my neurologist recommended medical marijuana. I learned that although that worked, it was the CBD that works, not the THC, so a srain like ACDC is nearly all CBD with minimal THC, so it works best.

Sorry, I wish I could help. Gabapentin and Tizanidine didn't work for me either. I couldn't take the side effects. I just take a lot of Ibuprofen, it helps some.

I take Lyrica as I have found it helps mainly from the hips down. For me, gabapentin helps mainly from the hips up. Nither is a miracle worker for me but Lyrica is the only Rx that takes the edge off.

I have used gabapentin for 12+ years. It helps somewhat. Have you tried compression sleeves for your feet or calves? I used compression items on my feet, shins/calves, and around my middle (the main areas of discomfort). I hope I won’t need a compression bodysuit down the road (😅😡😒).

Love that you have SO many replies. It really shows how much we care about each other. I’ve had gabapentin in the past. No relief. Doctor kept adding more. I’m sure it was over 1,800mg day for months. Nothing. After several months, we decided to taper me off. Then I had a reaction. My body did not like clearing that out. Currently, Baclofen 10mg tid. I also use arnica gel. It seems to decrease sudden burning/itching/ants under skin feeling. Ice packs and heating pad are my good standbys too.

Highly recommend cbd or cbd/thc. Pun intended. It relieves many of my ms related issues. I usually vape. I’ve also tried a balm on legs, gummies, tincture drops, smoking with pipe and even tried suppositories.

Yoga or stretching on a regular basis helps me. Doesn’t have to be a class or a certain routine. I use a red exercise ball at home. It’s a necessity that has helped with 3am agony when my calves and feet seize up.

Occasionally, the intense pressure of a therapeutic oscillator helps, it also has had reverse effect. Massages always made me worse and so did dry needling. Oddly, acupuncture does give me relief but it’s expensive, no one does it near my rural area and it needs to be done regularly.

Believe or not, I thinned this reply down, a couple times. Hopefully, something someone replies will help you. I hope today is a good day! 🫧
