Upright walkers!

My 1st experience with an upright Walker was when I was rehabilitating after my knee surgery. I only used it once but I loved it because I felt so secure in it and didn't have the fear of falling like I always did with my smaller, shorter walker. It allows you to put your forarm up in the forearm rest and hold the handles with your fist and brakes at the same time. You wind up looking ahead to where you're walking not down at the ground so it helps your balance. The forearm rest also help to stabilize your upper body. Then you keep your legs between the Walker you have incredible support for your balance. It has a seat and you can lock the brakes so you can sit down on it and the back rest to the lean back on. It also has a carry pouch to put your necessities in when you go places. I like the big wheels on mine because it allows you to go across rougher terrain like grass or gravel. The front on mine are ten inches in diameter. They are also fully adjustable to fit your height parameters. People who are extremely tall will have to pay more to get an extra tall model to fit their frame. Shop around because they do very in price from new about $89 to over $300. I have never found one used I guess because they are new on the market and the people that have them don't give them up! Fancy59.

The first time I ever saw one was a couple years ago in a restaurant. The poor man using it thought I was staring at him, but I just couldn't take my eyes off his walker!

Glad it is working for you🎉

I have both and prefer the upright but it's a bit harder to use on carpeting and in smaller areas. Also for me being only 5'3'' the seat is a bit high and not nearly as comfortable as a standard rollator. My 2 cents!

My Neurologist, who specialises in treating MS patients, says that an upright walker prevents shoulder issues compared to the lower walkers. FYI

I have both this type of walker and a rollator. I use the rollator the most because it is easier to fold and put in my car when I am going somewhere.
