Hold my beer….

Denise came home and found a premie ewe lamb, alone eyes closed, unable to stand. She called to me and I limped back to the house about the same time she arrived. We got the lamb in the incubator. She was completely non responsible but still breathing. So, out to catch and milk the lamb’s mum. I could barely help. Just sit in sheep poop and straw as D brought the mum ewe to me. I was able to anchor the ewe as D milked a small amount of precious colostrum from the ewe. The guilt is D had to help me stand up. It’s so frustrating, last year I would have done all the work! It’ll be a long night, feeding every hour or so. We have a three hour drive to the MS center tomorrow for my Bioness fitting and then a follow up YAG laser treatment on an IOL cataract replacement lens. Then another three hours back home, and relieve D’s mom, who will be ewe lamb sitting. Of course tomorrow night it’ll be every 2 hours for feeding! So, ‘Hold my beer…’

Oh how precious to hold a baby lamb especially at Easter. I am sorry that you have got such a long drive ahead of you, and I hope the bigness pays to be comfortable and work for you. I could unfortunately not use it or any other device that sends electrical impulses up the leg as it set off the RLS , but they are such good devices, I am sure your whole life will change when you get used to it. Let us know how you get on, blessings Jimeka and give the lamb a cuddle for me 🤗

I wonder how the lamb came to be left alone? Is this a common occurrence in the world of sheep? I hope your device is great for you. Keep us posted on the progress of the lamb.

we had to take her. Non responsive, eyes not open, unable to stand or walk and rapidly getting hypothermic. Air temp right above freezing she had 0% chance for survival.

Denise did all the work. I tried to stay out of her way. Right now she’s asleep in the parking lot while I try the Bioness system.

Amazing people at the ‘local’ MS Center. True hero’s when you consider they have their lives full of all the drama that life causes, yet they set it aside to always smile, laugh with and accommodate the patient (or victims!) of MS.

Losing independence and abilities sucks! I have been thinking about Bioness since my foot drop has gotten worse and AFO not quite enough. Let us know how it works for you!

It was interesting. If I had an extra $10 grand burning a hole in my pocket, I’d probably bite. As it is, if insurance will ‘foot the bill’ (sorry) then I’ll ‘walk with it’ (sorry again!) . Everyone is different, ask your dr for a referral.

Thank you for responding. I just saw the other post about the cionic neural sleeve. I just messaged my neuro to see if insurance will cover it. I have met my deductible for the year so if insurance does cover it I shouldn't have to foot the bill 🤣I hope you have a Good Friday

You helped more than you know. You made a huge difference to that little ewe and D knows your value as she still called to you to help. It always made me feel good when someone would ask me to do something because a lot of people treated me like a porcelain doll. Annoyed as we are that mobility is taken away from us try we also need to realize what we still can do. Like saving a lamb! 👍😃😜 Good for you lamb savin' man!

wow a lot to process but from my perspective you are doing as much as you can. What more can any person do just not as much as someone without MS. I get annoyed at the person who “can” do more but won’t. Keep up the good work,
