No, I won't let him but the cat has been sitting on my shoulder, edging my head to the side with his feet.

Nobody here took this the same way I did. So I sent it to my kids who have the same weird sense of humor as me and they all got it. They said, “what, are we supposed to take a shower before touching our animals “? I was so relieved that I am not alone in this world with a bizarre sense of humor. Of course, they are my kids, so they would have the same weirdness!
