I have a busy day ahead of me, but I have to tell you about this beautiful day. It snowed just a dusting, maybe an inch. I walked in it last night as it was coming down. It was completely silent outside, just me and any neighborhood cats that might have been watching me. This morning when the sun came up, I went out again. There were icicles on the branches glistening and sure enough, small paw prints in the snow! I’m much more a winter person than summer, I don’t care much for the heat. I probably get that from my sweet mama, who was from Maine. I miss her when I walk in the snow. Anyway, I hope that wherever you are, it is a beautiful day as well. Love to all, Kelly
Beautiful Sunday : I have a busy day ahead... - My MSAA Community
Beautiful Sunday
I envy you having the snow! All we've really gotten this year is a few scattered dustings, and now I have daffodils coming up.
sounds wonderful ..my time is the same walking in the snow and enjoying the quite of the day or night ...yes so pretty ...thank you for your description of the snow and icicles...love and happiness is all around you ...
Sounds lovely! I like the quiet that comes with snow 🥰
We haven’t even had a dusting, just a few pathetic flakes. I now have miniature daffodils in flower, purple crocuses, a star flower, muscari, and my big daffodils are about to open, plus the snowdrops. Harry cut my lawn for the first time this year, there was plenty of growth on it. Spring is definitely on its way. My primroses are in flower too. Hope you have had a lovely Sunday as well. 🤗
All of those flowers sound heavenly to me! I would like very much to see a few flowers right now, but not any temperature above 50! I suppose that is too much to ask 😆. And I suppose too that soon people will start complaining about record breaking temperatures and all that comes with summer. Too cold in the winter and too hot in the summer. We must be happy with where we are right now! ☺️
Hey Kelly, glad you are up and around again. Enjoy the weather. I used to love Summer and hate Winter but now i like Spring and Fall best.
Hi Sandy! Yes, only problems I have are the headache that is lingering and lots of insomnia. But I can’t just wait until it all gets perfect. The doctor said that these things can take a long time to get completely healed. It was suggested that I try to get on with life and just rest as needed. The insomnia has been difficult. How are you feeling?
Hi Kelly, i hate to burst your bubble but it will never be perfect 🙃 Please make sure to get enough rest and be careful outside!
as for me i'm doing well. had a good day. i was walking around my house and forgot to use the walker! so a very good day. a friend came over and we had chinese food and watched a movie. happy day. work is good. peaceful home environment. waiting for Spring to arrive.
Oh, boy, do I ever know that it will never be perfect! 😂😅🤣But thanks for the reminder, my dear friend! Sending you lots of hugs 🤗
Glad you had a fun day.
sounds lovely where you are. Here in PA, we haven’t had snow. I was especially thankful for that yesterday as I was driving from Pittsburgh back to Lancaster county. It was a beautiful blue sky and mild temperature. My youngest will be graduating from college in April. My goal was to go out and see her play with the college’s jazz band, which she just joined this semester. One more concert in April as well. It’s an incredibly long drive for me, but I was able to push thru it.
When my kids were little, we lived in Mannheim, Pa which is in Lancaster County. Our neighbors were all Amish or Mennonite. It was lovely there. The only downside was we had quite a lot of property and on the property were ticks! It was because of the creek and foliage. But we faithfully did tick checks and thoroughly enjoyed our years there.
I was just thinking about the drive from Pittsburgh to Lancaster. I remember the curvy roads and beautiful hills. I used to crane my neck to see all the pretty farms in the valleys along the way. They were like postcards. Perfectly kept up and looking like a great place to live! And so green and beautiful in the spring and summer, but the autumn was the best time of all!
sounds idyllic except for the tics.
It really was. The house was built in 1798 and was huge, perfect for our big family. I absolutely loved it. It even had the original outbuildings, such as a spring house, barns which had been restored, etc. It was the perfect place for kids to run around!
did you move when the kids were grown? where are you now?
We moved when the kids were still a bit young 5-15. We were in Salt Lake City for their growing up years. I’m in Idaho now. Little town of Pocatello. After Salt Lake it’s nice and quiet. When I visit my daughter in SLC now, it feels way too busy and full of people and traffic! I sure don’t want to live there again!
ok . quiet is good. i hope you have an MS doc nearby.
There is a neurologist in Blackfoot (17 miles away) that I have seen. But I prefer my doctor in Salt Lake because she knows me. Plus I don’t take meds for my MS , not since 2016. So it’s not really necessary. I hope you are having a good day.
hi Kelly, what made you stop taking medications? I'm doing ok thanks. still trying to sort out my medication dilemma. nobody wants to own their mistakes. i escalated it twice. I have to depend on the generosity of a corporation to take care of this because my other medication is being held back due to an unpaid bill (CVS messed up). Oh well. there is more to life than dealing with these little irritations and time suckers.
To be honest, Sandy, I had a feeling, call it instinct or in my gut, but whatever it was, I felt like they were harming me more than helping me. So, I discussed it with my husband and doctor and we agreed that it was best. Plus one thought is that as we age, they are not as effective. So, here I am, almost 7 years later and I am doing so much better than ever. I was using canes, a walker and a wheelchair. Today I can run if I must. I prefer not to run! But you know all the things that I do now. BIG difference. I do need pain medication sometimes, but even that is not like it was. For about a year and a half I stopped pain meds completely. Now my back hurts so much I must take some occasionally.
I miss the snow it's 61 here today and no snow all season
I used to love winter but not anymore. I moved to AZ about a year ago to escape the cold! Now, I contend with the heat. Thank goodness for AC. Keep Smiling, mon amour!
It has been an unusual winter so far in upstate New York. Most of January and February were pretty benign hardly any snow (Except for Buffalo, and thankfully I’m only an hour away from there and we didn’t have any of that snow.) However two days ago I had to dig my car not from a little snow but ice a couple inches thick all over the car. It was a work out to be sure and most of it is off now except a little bit on the roof. We had some pretty warm weather too. Temps have been up-and-down weatherwise. Seems to be the case from what I hear in many places over the US. My daughter in California had snow. Husband is in Arizona and he said it’s been pretty cool for Arizona this time of year. He left his jacket on the plane so he actually needs it now! I’m just happy that the winter darkness is leaving and after 6 o’clock it’s still light out. I’m one of those would like all year around daylight savings!
