i had a mini genetic panel done a few months back. the results showed i'm a carrier for primary coq10 deficiency, which means it shouldn't affect me. however, when i take coq10, i sleep better, can actually lift my feet off the floor when walking. my neuro got excited when he saw those results and told me to take coq10. i know it has anti-inflammatory benefits, but while i wait on my neuro appointment and the comprehensive genetics panel, i'm wondering: do any of you take coq10 and does it help your neurological symptoms? if it does, do you know why?

Hi Blanket, I take coQ 10. it does help me feel stronger but I don't know why. by stronger i think more endurance.
No, but I think it's cool! There are studies on this.
OMG: This makes me want to order Andrew Lessmans CoQ10 Supplements over this weekend when HSN is having their 5 Easy Payments special this Sunday. LOL
๐i'd try to get ubiquinol. before i take anything i do a ton of research, especially since i take so many meds. i don't want any more dangerous interactions. there are i think 2 types of coq10, but if you take ubiquinone your body has to change it to ubiquinol. also some come with bioperine (black pepper), which helps your body to absorb the ubiquinol better. i use doctor's best. a warning, some of the doctor's best coq10 supplements have beeswax. since i'm allergic to so much, i decided not to even go there. it's gluten and gmo free, also vegan. hope it helps!๐ค
How much do you take?Just curious
I take CoQ10 on the recommendation of my PCP. She said it would help maintain my heart. I have no idea if it helps me but at 82, I'm still chugging along independently. So maybe?
I know I don't get all the nutrition I should from what I eat so I take allot of vitamins including COQ10. In addition to my MS meds, I have arthritis drugs to take twice a day, with that said I will sign off and go get some fruit!
Iโve been taking Co Q10 for a long time for my heart, with my statin. I think itโs been helping me. I feel better when I take it than when I donโt. My MS seems to be doing alright when paired with the Co Q 10. Itโs definitely good if youโre taking a statin as Iโve heard from two doctors caring for me. Best wishes!
no but my husbands heart dr told him to take the qunol brand, for cholesterol meds and his heart disease, he has been taking it 5years with good results
I also have MS, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and a rare disease called Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome which started in November, 2018. One treatment for the last diagnosis of CVS was to take 2 CoQ10 200mg capsule each day. It will give added benefit for my MS as well. Am currently doing what I can to learn as much as I can about all three of these diseases that I now have. Children can also get CVS and they have found that more adults have it also. Guidelines for treating the Pediatric patient were written first. Then about two years ago the adult guidelines were written as well. I get less ocular migranes as well with my CVS dosing. Amitriptyline has been a God send for breaking through the sequence of steps of nausea and vomiting I suffered from at that point. I believe it has helped me.
I have been taking CoQ10 for many years, since before my MS symptoms began. I think we should all take it because as we age, our bodies don't produce enough glutathione. At least that is my layperson's understanding of what my Integrative Medicine doctor told me.
