Our little Boxer "Maggie" thought she heard or smelled something in the backyard. So, I let her and Big boy Miter out of their crates and into the yard. Maggie went straight to the fence , put her front paws up on the fence and stared. A moment later, a deer walked up to her and they sniffed noses till the deer left quietly. Of course Maggie went into crazy mode as her new friend just left her, Miter wanted in (no interest), but Maggie made some barking noises I have never heard from a dog before. I guess I'll have to move her crate so she can't see out the sliding door! I was surprised the deer came up to see Maggie, but I guess she knows the difference between a coyote and a family dog!

An early morning
the deer can be really sweet ...so cute to see i bet ..they sniff our little guy to just wonder who he is for he doesn't always bark at them ...i guess some are not nice or he feels they want into his yard in the back for now they can't get into it...hahhahahhha
Glad to know your maggie knows the difference between a deer and a coyote!
Deer can be great as long as they have a way out! If they dont, OMG! Watch out! 🤣😂🤗💕🌠
WOW! That is very cool. When ever my boxer saw a deer show up in our yard, she would chase them away. She didn't want anything in her yard unless they were invited in.
That's great! I think it also depends on the deer. If my dog's not barking, we've had them come within a few feet, but there are others that can be waaaaay out in the field, and the moment they see him they snort and run.
That’s way cool that they are not threatening to each other and can be friends 👍🏼🙏😉
