T-20 Ocrevus Infusion- hope I make it

I am on 5 month intervals due to crap gap and new lesions last year. I have been fighting vertigo over a week now, my next infusion is Aug 26, not sure I am going to make it. Waiting for MRI orders, pray to god no knew lesions. Downside of mychart I can read drs notes. I have appt tomorrow, my left knee has started to buckle without warning, not often, but enough, each time I start to stumble. I read drs notes they are considering taking me off Ocrevus. Has anyone stopped Ocrevus, if so what did you switch too?

I’ve been on Ocrevus for 5 years. It has decimated my immunoglobulins so my neuro has been talking to me about switching meds. (I also just started IVIG treatment.) The med she seems to favor switching me to is Mavenclad. We can’t make any changes nor can I get my overdue Ocrevus infusion because I’m still fighting an internal infection that has been going on for months.

One of the difficulties I have with switching is that there isn’t good data available for either switching from Ocrevus to Mavenclad nor is there good data about the ramifications in someone my age. I haven’t made any decisions yet. My next neuro appt is in Sept and this will be the main topic.

Do you ask Dr for data or supporting works or research med journals yourself?

My neuro warned me the first time we discussed it that there isn’t a lot of data out there to help with this decision. She knows I’m a data person and always research everything. We laugh about this because I’m unusual amongst her patients in that regard. My own attempts to find info have come up short. I can find opinions by MS neuro’s I respect but not substantial data.

Frankly there isn’t a lot of data about MS treatments in my age group period. Or even about MS stability in older people on DMT’s vs not on DMT’s.

I switched from ocrevus to kesimpta in May 2021 b/c of crap gap. My doc and I are both pleased with how I'm doing. We talked about mavenclad at my last visit. I'm going to stay on kesimpta for now.
