Jif peanut butter recall

I'm posting this here because I'm just so darn mad! Between the MS giving me swallowing difficulties and losing most of my teeth a year ago, I tend to eat mostly soft foods. I live on peanut butter! I buy it in the 2-packs of giant jars from Sam's Club.

I woke up this morning, checked the news, and saw it was being recalled. I have ELEVEN JARS that have to be returned to the store! I've been sick for several weeks with the lovely issues associated with food poisoning, but I thought I was developing gall bladder problems and had begun keeping a food diary.

All this time I've been being poisoned by my comfort food! I am so sad. And I don't know how to explain to the dog that we're taking away his favorite treat.

Thank you for posting this. We have some as well, but luckily, they are unopened.

Only some batches were recalled. Go online to check the batch numbers, then check the numbers on the jars. I have JIF on hand, but my batch wasn't recalled (and a good thing too, as it's half gone!)

That's the sad part. All 11 jars have to go. I do have one jar left that wasn't part of the recall, so I shouldn't be going through withdrawal any time soon!

Like you, I consume a lot of peanut butter. It's good that the jars were unopened, but even if they were, retailers should take them back and refund the $$ because the JIF corporation compensates for the recall.

Yes, I called Sam's Club right away, because I'm sitting on $60 worth of peanut butter I can't use, and they assured me that even opened jars will qualify for a refund. I'm just finding it all rather amusing that I've been pulling my hair out trying to find out what food I've developed a sensitivity to, and all along it was my peanut butter addiction!

Try Almond butter. Mix in a little honey for easier swallowing. Nice betwixt Graham crackers.

So sorry you’ve had to deal with this. There’s lots of other peanut butter that’s not an issue so by that. Take care.😘

Try Peter Pan peanut butter. Still yummy!

That was always my first choice! I just switched to Jif because we go through so much of it and it's cheaper in the giant jars from Sam's Club. It's just so frustrating, because I intentionally stocked up when I got my tax refund. I don't normally keep a dozen jars on hand!

So I read this last night and I’m so glad you mentioned! I didn’t even realize we had Jif pb and sure enough, checked the lot number and it’s recalled. I guess ours is ok because it’s almost gone and no one is sick. Still threw it away though 🥴😑
