I ran across this and decided to make it one of my 2017 projects. π
Instructions: start the year with an empty jar and fill it with notes about good things that happen. Then on New Year's Eve next year, empty the jar and see what wonderful things happened.
I hope we all have overflowing jars π

That's a sweet idea, especially for those of us with an incredibly short memory. Since I don't have a jar, and if I did I would misplace it, I'm creating a jar folder on my computer.
Wonderful idea, erash . π‘ I'll just have to remember to write them down daily, then remember where I put the jar! But what a perfect way to focus on the positive. π
See, I can't remember from one second to the next...looked all over to find an 'idea' icon and saw the lightbulb. Posted my reply, only to see that I MUST have just read the reply above mine and instantly forgot I just saw a lightbulb there. π
Perhaps the first addition to my jar should read: I remembered the second time through! π
I really like this idea erash! I've been sitting here today exhausted from the Christmas day festivities and thinking about all the frustrations I had in 2016. It would be so great if I had a jar of positive happenings to balance it out and remind me of the good things that happened. I might use my computer as dmaskal1 suggested.
That's a great idea. It's been a rough year for so many people I know. We all feel we will be grateful to have 2016 over and done with. In spite of all the negatives, God has been so good to me and given me many wonderful blessings. It can be easy to forget all the good at times.
I don't know how I missed this, but I just came across it and think it is a wonderful idea. Since so much of my world revolves around my sixteen year old grandson who lives just down the road a ways from me, I will also be including good things that happen to him through the year. For example, he has worked very hard in his machine shop class at vocational school and just earned his certificate. I don't think there are too many sixteen year old certified machinists around. I am so proud of him. Forgive the brag, but I don't have too many people to share it with. The jar will be a perfect way to insure that I will remember these things and we can go through them at the end of the year and share in his accomplishments which will be a real joy to me too.
joys-an21 lm glad you ran across this and brought it back to life! How many have done this? Now would be a good time to make one!
Thanks Joy!βΊπ
And are you kidding?? Your his grandmother!!!! No one can ever top that kind of love and bragging!πππ π Congrats to him! He should be very proud of himself!! Just as you are!
