I've been on Ocrevus for 3 years with no hair loss.

Hi Redken007 when I started Ocruvus, I did lose hair and had ichy scalp. I have really thick hair, so it seemed like a ton!πŸ˜‚ But it slowed down after my 3rd infusion... But that's me!! Others have different reactions!Welcome to the family btw! πŸ€—πŸ’•πŸŒ

Hi, thanks for your experience and of course also being part of this family.πŸ™‚I' ve noticed this problem started shortly just after my 2nd dose. Among official side effects this is not mentioned at all and my neurologist would not share any extra info.Only those officialy quoted for this product. Therefore the best way I could see was to ask the ones who are on it.

i have always lost some hair all year long so i haven't seen an increase...i had asked a hair dresser why i was always losing hair ? they said can you imagine what your hair would weight if you didn't loose it ...at the time i had really long hair ..couldn't imagine it be any heavier ...eventually had to cut for i kept having a headache and was told probably the hair....so i don't know i guess ask the doctor....love and happiness...

Everyone loses hair virtually every day. The "lifespan" of a hair is 2 to 7 years.

Yes, started with the first infusion. I am male, the loss has slowed down, but the glare off the top of my head did destroy a satellite... So, from there I tried Propecia (READ THE SIDE EFFECTS FIRST!) Well I got the last one they list which is kind of like being kicked in the family jewels. Once that happens it takes about a month after you stop taking it, in my case for the pain to go away. Maybe that is why they have it listed last in the side effects.

Hi Jorrell, thanx for sharing your experience. It sounds a bit scary....I' m female so hair means a lot to me.I've already started to cope with a fact that it is related to this med but on the other hand O is helping me a lot.It is just too much to go through so I will rather stay away from any extra meds for hair loss as it took me nearly 3 months to recover post solumedrol shots. They led me almost to liver coma .So my innitial start with Ocrevus treatment had to be postponed until I completly recoved and my liver went back to normal.

I fully understand the psychological impact of a woman's hair thinning as my wife is suffering similar hair thinning, just from a different cause. I wish you the best!

Thank you. You are absolutly right. Say hello to your wife and perhaps we should all remid ourselves that souls are more important than some hair.Take care and let's keep a positive spirit.πŸ™‚

When I was on Ocrevus I did lose more hair than normal. It also changed the texture of my hair. You may already know there are treatments for hair loss. There are shampoos & conditioners from Nioxin that can help. You can also use electrotherapy on your scalp. Here is a pic of the machine I have (upside down). It has 4 different wands for scalp & facial applications. My husband got it online from Amazon.

Hello hairbrain4, thank you so much for sharing your experience. I'm quite keen to try some Nioxin shampoos & conditioners first to see whether they might be some help to me.πŸ˜‰Cheers and have a nice day.

I have been on Ocrevus for about 5 years now. I have noticed I lose more usual.

Hello, yes! Seems I am losing tons more hair. I used to take Biotin, but stopped a few years ago. I started back taking it a couple weeks ago and I think I can already tell the difference. BTW, I've been on Ocrevus four years.

Hello stam, thanks for your reply. After getting so many responses I'm convinced and fully in the picture that Ocrevus is causing it.I knew that some meds for MS are well known for this side effect but I trully believed that it won't be O case...Apart from Biotin have u tryed anything else to reduce it? I' m on it second year and I have a half of my hair.I'm so sad and it makes me so anxious as well.I used to have a great thick hair and these days is sooo bad...even the quality

No, I haven't tried anything else. I do take the largest biotin I can find, and it works pretty good.

You can also eat gelatin if you don't want to take the pills but you might have to eat quite a bit to equal the pills πŸ˜€

I lose some hair on Ocrevus but not a ton more than usual (not yet at least). I think it was worse when i started a different dmt years ago (Copaxone or Tecfidera I can’t remember which) and i started taking biotin and i notice a big improvement.

My scalp has been very itchy for years. I use nioxin and it helps some. Nioxin is for fungal infection problems my son’s dermatologist told me.

Thank you for sharing all your tips.As having itchy sculp I decided to try Nioxin brand.I' ll see but I must admit since being on Ocrevus I keep figting some skin problems from time to time.It comes as red itchy lesion which spontaneosly dissapears within few days and is extremly itchy.

For now I am taking Biotin, I cut my hair, and I trying not to use conditioner. I hope this advice works for you, Please if you find out other remedies, share them. πŸ₯°

Hello, thank you for your reply. I'm on O 2 years and it still continues.I take 300mg of Biotin daily since on on this treatment if not even longer. But I would say in my case stress contributs toward to it very much.My dad was dx with pancreatic cancer just 4 months as I' ve started it.It was too much to cope. And then it all started and basically still continues.I used Head&Shoulders for many years and I was happy with it.Now I decided to try Nioxin products as few people from here sugessted.I' ll see.In case it gets better I' ll let you know.I' m considering hair cut as well.
