ALL THE LEFTOVER CHOCOLATE!
I'm not a big Halloween person, but it was such fun to see about 90 kids, down from over 170 in past years, last night. My son and his girlfriend both live in an apartment complex and never have trick-or-treaters, so they came for dinner and stayed to enjoy all the kids. It seemed like a little ray of "normal."
All. Of. It. Except for “It”, of course. The jack o lanterns, spooky yard decorations, creative costumes, fancy princesses prancing around, super heroes showing off their moves, and the excitement of the kiddos (all ages) rushing towards the treats. My new neighborhood has thrown me for a loop because the kids literally take one item from the bowls, and the other houses have signs “take one”. There are no teen crews coming at 8pm to clean us out either, I use to load them up with what was left and we would all laugh about how ridiculous it was. Most of what we bought to give out will be sent to hubs work 🤷♀️ The hottest item on my porch this year was the pretzel packs, and I tossed a lot of glow bracelets. I have to change up my game for next year 🤣 My favorite part of this year was seeing the community together and meeting some new faces who were no longer afraid to have a chat. And it wasn’t snowing sideways 🙃
