does anyone have MS and Lupus together? - My MSAA Community
does anyone have MS and Lupus together?
I know lupus has some of the same traits as ms and other illness.
when I was diagnosed with Stills disease they thought I had lupus cuz I lived in Wisconsin
Just curious what living in Wisconsin has to do with lupus? I have never heard this before
they have a lot of ticks there
for the summer I was living in the dorms because my lease was up where I was living for the year and there was a female who would use the bathroom and shower and leave it completely nasty and muddy.
Dont get me started on the kitchen. There would be chicken feet and blood left all over the counters and sink. The freezer and refrigerator was nasty as well.
The kitchen I never used it I had a microwave and freezer in my room After that I learned when they cleaned the bathroom and I would use it after they finished cleaning and the rest of the day I stayed at my boyfriends house until both him and his roommates talked me into moving in.
I learned that summer everyone doesn't have the same need of clean as I do.
i didnt know ticks had anything to do with lupus?
someone told me along this journey that it's more likely to have another auto-immune disease if you have one already. I have MS, Hashimoto's, and am a higher risk because genetics for diabetes. My6 father had type 2 diabetes. He also passed along his genetic anomalies for high triglycerides, high BP, and a clotting disorder. So yeah, I am a hot mess right now with potentially 3 auto-immune diseases. I am always on the edge of normal with A1c readings on labs so I know it wont take much to tip me over into type 2 diabetes
yes, i see what you mean now. genetics can be a mess and we got what we got.yes, hot mess here too! thanks for the read...with covid out there the medical field is now tied down and hard to get into a new doc that has some experience.Best wishes for better health ...to all....
*sighπΆ it's true, that about having more than one autoimmune disease and aren't we grateful for genetic predispositions?π i have confirmed coeliac and transverse myelitis with possible (likely) ms. i also have dystonia and my dad had parkinson's, so yay! smh
also my aunt has lupus. all these autoimmune diseases travel together and are connected somehow. i'm super grateful for researchers.
It is my understanding that type 2 diabetes is not so much genetics as it is lifestyle (and that cannot be said about Hashimoto's, MS, RA, Lupus etc.). Are you on any kind of diet?
not so much.. while you can combat the effects of diabetes and keep it somewhat under control thru diet and exercise there are certain genetic factors that come into play. My father had type 2 diabetes and that puts me at higher risk for developing the disease.. he also died from a massive stroke. This was a result of him not taking care of the diabetes and also because of the genetic mutation MTHFR of which i carry 2 mutations... I inherited these from him and they make me super prone to high triglycerides and cholesterol in general.. while i am managing to keep my overall cholesterol numbers below 200, my triglycerides are high and my HDL/LDL ratio is upside down because of this... No amount of dieting or anything else will fix this except medication.. I have an appt with my PCP on the 9th when i will discuss this with her.. Right now I am battling some severe anemia that got intensely worse while i was on the Mayzent and seems to have bottomed out.. I am now taking liquid iron with Vit C supplements and my B12 is good as is my D3.. My anemia is severe at this point and I am trying to avoid having to go for iron infusions again.. not really worried about cholesterol or diabetes at this point.. LOL
