I have a family wedding on Oct 2 my next infusion is Oct 5, should I be worried?

Fully vaccinated late August. Wedding is in NH I live in Mass, my NH family is less worried by covid some against vaccine. I will feel funny wearing a mask and will that keep me safe? Would you go right before your infusion?

if you take precautions (and are aware which are anti-vax and can therefore keep your distance), do you think that would help you feel more secure?

Yes, I would but I would wear that mask, and be super vigilant about washing my hands. This is a wonderful time to celebrate, with family and friends. The anti-vax crowd is only a problem for themselves, since you have been vaccinated. Keep Smiling :-D

I would go. The vaccine should keep you from getting very sick in the off chance you happen to get COVID. Most vaccinated people with COVID don't get sick enough to be hospitalized. As others suggest I would try to distance from the unvaccinated.

i wouldn't really worry about your treatment as much as the covid,i think with mask you will be safe and hand sanitizer.the make small bottles to keep in your purse

There are breakthrough infections for vaccinated people, and many examples of people who have become infected despite vaccinations and taking the other precautions. If it's an outdoor wedding, you would probably be safe wearing a mask. Indoors is probably riskier. I would worry less about others than myself. It's not selfish to value your life.

You are vaxed they aren't so they are the ones to be worried. Just bling out your mask to look weddingish and if any one says anything just tell them I am protecting you from me. Just carry a big bottle of hand sanitizer And enjoy the wedding.

I have friends that have bad allergy problems and have to wear masks all the time and have for a long time. They always make their masks match their outfits and bling them up so that they look pretty. So I thought that might be a good idea for you.

I don't get the same meds but I would still mask. You can always "dress up" your mask. Have fun with it!

Enjoy life, NanaCC! Please don't let wearing a mask make you feel uncomfortable either! The new word for this dilemma unfortunately is called "mask shaming" and prayerfully even our families have to realize this is our new normal.

Blessings to you whatever you decide and I'll be thinking about you during your infusion.

Sorry to be a wet blanket here but some of the responses missed an important element in your situation. Keep in mind that since you are on Ocrevus, you likely donโ€™t have full immunity despite the vaccines. There are many articles available describing the problem of the Covid vaccines for people on b-cell depleting therapies such as Ocrevus, Kesimpta, Rituxan and the like. Some of us didnโ€™t produce any antibodies but recent studies show we will still have a T cell response. Itโ€™s not full immunity though.

So hopefully the wedding is outdoors because that is safer than inside. Wear your mask and keep socially distanced from the unvaccinated as much as you can. Let your risk tolerance guide you and I hope despite the challenges, you still have a good time!

Yes wear a mask. No hugging or shaking hands. Use hand sanitizer before eating or drinking. Beware that both vaccinated & unvaccinated can transmit COVID-19 even if they don't have visible symptoms. Even those that have had & recovered from COVID-19 can be reinfected & transmit it to others. Antibodies from the vaccine & natural immunity are weak. You can still get COVID-19 but usually a milder case of it. So please don't go anywhere with the false sense of security that you won't get COVID-19 if you are vaccinated & that only the unvaccinated can transmit COVID-19.

Here you should check with the organizers of the event. It is tough to organize something now because all the rules connected to the pandemic are changing very quickly, and it isn't easy to plan anything in such conditions. Last summer, I wanted to relax on yachts with the guys from vistayachts.com/, but it did not work out because the city was closed for lockdown. There was an opportunity to hold the tickets before it was possible, but I also decided that it would be better to repair the house while I work remotely, and then I will repurchase the tickets and have a good rest. The main thing is that everything should be done without haste. Otherwise, I start to be stressed.
