Partial Numbness & Over Sensitive?

Is it possible to have partial numbness, but be highly sensitive at the same time?

I feel like I'm really losing it sometimes trying to figure this out & not feel like I'm really going crazy.

I think I experience something similar!

My feet are constantly tingling/numb. If the dog steps on my feet with his giant claws or I drop something on my foot, the automatic (nerve) reaction is so intense it almost causes my knees to buckle! I can step on all sorts of stuff and never know it, but certain things get a huge reaction. I never remember to ask neurologist at appointments.

Yes, I believe that is quite common with ms. I have deep numbness yet still feel the slightest touch, especially in my feet.

My feet are numb and tingling, but when I shower 🚿 and water hits directly they hurt. Crazy 😜 Ken🐾🐾

Mine are numb yet I still can't stand being tickled.

I'll never get a break

Yep, anything is possible, so don't be surprised. Don't worry, be happy!

I do 🙋‍♀️

there's a patch on my thigh that alternates between complete numbness, tingles and what i call 'the stabbing pain.' it's really weird when one of my mum's dogs licks that area; i can see, but not feel it. i don't know what makes it come alive with agony or tingle. it's been there now for about a decade. sorry

In my feet and hands there is numbness and tingling. I'm considering a career in safe cracking, but can't find a get away wheelchair.

I'll bet falalalala could come up with one. She'd probably also be an accomplice. If she won't, I will.

Here it is!

Just look casual as you're leaving.

get away

Could you add a seat for the accomplice? Tandem wheelchair/lounge chair!

A lounge chair would be perfect for cloudwatching get togethers,

😂

Of course, with the tandem bike, it would be hard to separate to confuse pursuers.

Yes. My bottom of my feet are numb and can be very sensitive at times. This sensitivity seems to be going up to my calves and shins somewhat as well.

Sounds like Small Nerve Fiber Nueropathy. It is separate from MS and took years to even get tested. MS Nuerologist like just calling everything MS. Foolish....

Tested by skin biopsy. A few Nuerologist specialize in it...not many.

In my area there are 10 to 20 MS Nuerologist but only one who specializes in SNFN.

So you've been diagnosed with both? Is the treatment different for SNFN then for MS?

palomino27 profile image

Yes, both. The only real treatment for SNFN really is super expensive IVIG OR Plasmaphorersis. Some use steroids to calm things too. Nothinh really worked for me but for some IVIG is like a miracle worker.

False negatives are a problem too. SNFN can be splotchy on ones body. They did 4 skin biopsy on various parts of my body. Below my knee was a very high positive. My foot was low positive. The two on my upper body were negative.
