Has anyone had the shortened infusion, with no steroids? How did it go? Side effects? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks! 🤗💕🌠

I have not but my ms specialist will only do it with steroids and benydrl which i take anyway due to itching and redness which I have had. Oddly I had my 3rd full infusion this week and still feel terrible swollen glands horrible fatigue pressure in ears nauscious lightheadness dizzy. Went to primary and was told glands were from infusion. I am too afraid after this experience to try shorter time.

Did you have this same response to the past infusions mm1527mm ? You should let yet your neuro know about it!! Feel better soon!🤗💕🌠

Never before it was honestly a bit scary to me. Neuro said just take beneydrl and tylenol

I did at the end of April. No side effects or anything different except I wasn't awake for 2 days afterward. I did do the Benedryl. I can no longer take the steroids because of the A-Fib I have developed. I just had to have my neuro order it without the steroid. It took about 30 minutes less for the whole process too!

Yeah!!! I'm really hoping my neuro will let me have the shorter one!☺️ But I'm thinking not.😐🤗💕🌠

Have you had any reactions in the past with the steroids? The Dr can't make you take the steroids if you don't want them. If you are having trouble of any kind with the steroids your Dr should not prescribe it in the first place. The steroids are recommended by the drug company, they aren't necessary to make the O work. The Benedryl & steroids are to stop/slow any reactions you may have to the O. Here's a link to O's webpage that says they are "Recommended Premedication" ocrevus.com/hcp/dosing/admi...

I just had my latest Ocrevus infusion and it was the shortened protocol. I did not know they were going to do this and still don’t know if my neuro ordered it that way, and didn’t tell me, or if the pharmacist at the infusion center made the call.

It started out the same as always with all 3 premeds: Solumedrol, Tylenol and Benedryl. The Benedryl knocked me out as usual for a couple of hours. When I woke up, the nurse was telling me I didn’t have much more to go. I was surprised because it seemed too soon. So when she came back, I asked if she was using the shorter protocol. She said yes and when I said my neuro hadn’t said she was going to order it this way, the nurse said the pharmacist has the authority to do it.

I didn’t have any problems with it and it was awesome to be able to leave 2 hours earlier than normal! I haven’t had any significant problems with Ocrevus thus far. (Knock on wood!)

Mine is ordered with no solumedrol, because of my bad reactions to it. I just don't know if I can get the 2hr one. 🤣 You lucky you can fall asleep! 😂🤗💕🌠

I don’t know about lucky…I fight falling asleep because I don’t like being basically passed out at an infusion center with bunches of people around. So far the Benedryl has won every time!

My infusion is coming up in September and the plan is no steroids because of the racing heart rate it caused me...so we’ll see. I am hoping do no steroids and a calmer outcome!

I have had the shorten version but I still received the steroid. The only change is that they increase the drip rate.
