Soo for about a month now, my neck muscles, right shoulder muscles and muscles around my right shoulder blade have been locked up off and on, but never totally off. At times it is so painful that I can barely sit up in the morning. I’ve tried warmth; cold; massage, over the counter pain patches, Tylenol etc... I cannot get rid of it and it’s making me crazy. It’s like waking up with a creak in your neck that radiates out.
Any suggestions? I already take a muscle relaxer at night. I need some sort of relief. I go back to work tomorrow now that I am recovered from Covid and I am going to be sitting in front a computer for hours and that is not going to help.

Not COVID related. The muscle tension was before Covid. I am feeling pretty good in terms of Covid recovery. I think my case was much milder then many others have suffered. Only lingering issue is fatigue. We will see how I do back at work tomorrow.
Fatigue is a dreadful thing, I’m someone who’s been suffering fatigue for 25years, muscle stiffness is related to the problems you’re describing! Sounds like you may have long-covid! Be good to yourself and don’t rush your recovery x
I have been dealing with this EXACT issue myself. My Neurologist had some blood work done and upped my D3 to 5,000 IU and prescribed Zanaflex; and then the Pandemic hit.. shoulder works better if I gently stretch it every morning. I really wonder what caused this and No, I do not have Covid.
I have horrible neck and back pain from tension and spasms. I, too take a muscle relaxer but not sure why, as it does not help. I take ibuprofen, 4 at a time. Also, try a heating pad, and if you have someone who can massage it for you that definitely helps. My husband bought me a hand held deep tissue massager for Christmas a couple years ago and it works wonders when used regularly.
You are dealing with spasticity in your neck and shoulder ampyra or the generic version helps, talk to your neurologist if you are not taking anything yet you should, better living thru chemistry. The spasms may go away or they may be permanent because of nerve damage oh the joys of MS. To help with my cramping I have a baclofin pump and I have a trainer stretch my legs and shoulders twice a week at our local gym the problem will not go away on its own, definately talk with your neurologist.
wow when i have had that happen was from sitting in one position for too long or sleep wrong...good luck but again maybe it will go away with going back to work.....
