My daughter sends me emails from this site when she sees a good deal. I know some have looked into weighted blankets, but they can be expensive. I know nothing about these, but thought I’d pass the info on.

Weighted blanket
I have heard people say they really like them. Other than that, I don't know anything about them. Thanks for sharing as I have now set alerts for the site
Thank you but I don't think a weighted blanket is what I need. I'm always hot
I just got a weighted blanket (arrived Sunday). I just LOVE it. Have not slept this well in years! Would recommend it to anyone!
Forgot, the important thing is to get one with two interchangeable covers, one for winter, one for summer. You cannot wash the actual blanket, but can of course wash the covers. The blanket has glass beads in it to give it the weight. My winter one is like a minky blanket, the summer one is cotton/ poly cooling. Wonderful.
Wal~Mart sells them
i have one 15 lbs,it does make you relax, but my major problem is in my legs,i found it hard to get out from underneath it.when the potty calls at night,it is a wrestling match!
They are suppose to help with insomnia amongst other conditions.
It seems we either love them or hate them. I think the weight of the blanket is supposed to be proportionate to our body weight. I made one a few years ago for my grandson, and the instructions had the ratio.
Some folks with restless leg syndrome find them helpful, but, as always, what works for one doesn’t always work for another.
I had never seen any this inexpensive, so I thought I’d pass it on.
I'm not sure how people can stand those weighted blankets. I can hardly stand regular blankets touching my legs. Another solution to weighted blankets is a dog or a cat. They love to weigh you down at night! ;-P
I was recently thinking of getting one. Not for me, my husband. He tosses & turns and kicks his legs. I’m guessing from the wear & tear from years of hockey and baseball (catcher). And now standing/walking on the concrete floors of the hospital all day. He snaps & cracks when he walks. I’m just worried it would be too hot bc he’s already a million degrees 🤣
Kohls has a good return policy so it would probably be worth trying.
Thanks!
I got one for my (brain damaged) son when he was young. His was washable but you had to take it to a laundromat and do it in a huge machine, even though it's twin size. When we were looking at it she had him read out loud a book. He was very monotone with his voice until she wrapped the blanket around him and then he would emphasize words and read normally. It was cool!
I purchased a weighted blanket last winter (michigan) used it one night and took it back the next day. It was so warm I woke up feeling like I had endured a hot humid day. You know how people w/ ms like heat. Anyway it wasn't for me.
