Wk 4 of Tecfidera

On today I started wk 4 of Tecfidera and things seems to be going well. On some days I may experience a lil more fatigue and headaches. Just thankful no major symptoms are happening and will continue to pray none will. I am taking one day at a time and trusting God in the process I won’t have to go through multiple changes of medications over the course of my journey and with 4wks down no major symptoms will occur. Thanks for everyone input across the wks. What a blessing to be part of ppl that cares and we are MS Warriors😀

Pleased that is going well. Tell your neurologist about the headaches, monitor them. Thank you for sharing your experiences they will help someone else. Blessings Jimeka 🤗

Happy for you👍

I was on a zoom meditation, last night and two of the women were on Tecfidera and complained of flushing due to the medications. Does that happen to you? One talked about her neurologist switching her to a newer version to decrease side effects. Do you know if you’re on the newer version? Just curious

Thank you! I have not experienced flushing. Usually I eat 30m before taking medication and space it out 12hrs apart. So far things are going well. Praying all will continue well.

When I began taking it about 5 years ago I had some queasiness and flushing that lasted about 1 month. Occasionally the flushing would come and go, but that has long gone. (At this point, I have had 1 relapse in 18 months, and I'm 77 years old!) I have heard that there is a new generic Tecfidera available now and will ask my neuro about changing to that very shortly. Sounds like a good option, especially with the cost issue. I've had a grant or else free from Biogen all these years. It will be interesting to find out what my insurance co. will charge for the generic! Any body out there know the answer to that question?

Thank you for the information. I do not know the cost change, but I have heard of the generic. When I call for a refill they were going to send me the Generic and I ask to stick with the Brand ffor now. Your story is very motivational. Many blessing to you!
