The heat sucks the strength out of you. You may as well walk around with a drinking straw out your head. π₯΅
U got that right. Friday it was 90 and when I came home I had to hang up my clothing because they were wet from me sweating. All I was doing was walking from the car to the house which is very short distance
I have to renew my license but I havenβt because of the social distance crap I would be standing in line forever in the heat. Because of the shutdown I couldnβt do it . I canβt renew online because I have to take a vision test. At 1st the state said that everyone who ids who expired had priority and we were the only ones being served but they gave a month June to July. The lines have wrapped around the buildings and around the block . They have people standing in 90+ temps. It wasnβt til someone posted on social media that standing in the heat was like a lynching that they changed the deadline to nov.
One lady we asked her how long she had been in line because she was a block from the door, she had been there since 7am and place opened at 8am we saw her at 1pm.
Normally we could do express but they closed the only one on my side of town doing because the mayor didnβt want it there.
Oh geeze, that's just insane! Waiting that long in the heat, wearing a mask? That's heatstroke waiting to happen!ππ π€ππ
Thank goodness for AC, however I am now a prisoner in my own home, in summer and winter!
Has anyone tried those cooling vests? I'm considering getting one. I cannot tolerate this heat! It makes my vision blurred, I can't think straight, feel like I'm melting.
I also have Orthostatic Hypotension and hot weather is my enemy. I feel like I'm constantly going to pass out. I drink those rehydration drinks a lot and plenty of water, and no standing up too quickly!
Alot of us have the cooling vests stripybutterfly I have the belt. And love it! If I can find where I packed the ice packs π MSAA has a program, see if you qualify! mymsaa.org/msaa-help/coolin...

Combine heat AND humidity, and that's the energy sucking thing that will take you out, in no time. I tried and used all the things out there. Lots and lots of ice water. Frozen Vests. Sweat wicking clothing. Evaporative head bands... Cooling pillows... I'm sure there are at least a dozen others I tried. Some of the best were sheltering in a beer cooler. Cryogenic Baths. Spending time in a Blast Freezer at -45Β°F up to just before the point you actually freeze! Now I have my little room, with it's own dedicated oversized window unit, that's all mine! Life is good again!
We can shelter from covid-19, and we can shelter from the heat too!
