Wait, your supposed to remember what you read? Ugh. I'm out! I wish you tons of luck and a great time luvhair ! You are going to meet some great ppl I'm sure! π€ππ
Let us know how it goes. Maybe I will think about heading over to my library!
Yes! Nothing sticks any more. I have trouble with memory and concentration. It seems to make everything more difficult. Even with my phone calendar and tons of reminders, I forget lots. I used to love reading, but find itβs hard to do now.
Mine seems to be concentrating! My add gets in the way of my ocd which gets in the way of boredom which gets in the way of.. ohhh look Amazon, no JoAnns can I make that?..... Ugh
Like luvhair i used to read 2 books a week and remember what I had read but now I have 10 books on kindle not even opened. I do try, I can read these short posts but I cannot read long ones, I try but I get half way through and I have forgotten what the post is about. Blessings Jimeka hope the recovery is going well.
I'm lucky to keep track of what day it is, let alone read a long post. Then to answer it? I will form the thought, then lose it. Then think all over again. π€£π
I was unable to read for about 3 years. I've just recently been able to read again and I'm taking full advantage. No, I can't always remember great parts of what I've read but I'm enjoying it so have decided to not let that stop me.
I've been doing okay. I use a cane more than I used to, still having cognitive difficulties, but at least for now my incontinence is gone. My husband and I are trying to lose weight and get more exercise. Good bye to chocolate for now!
It's good to hear from you melack01 sry to hear about the cognitive difficulties. They are no fun, this I Know! I have been playing a memory card game a few times a day. I think it helps. My Dr says it does. And doesn't hurt.
The thing about diets is they are made to be broken. If you deny yourself chocolate, your going to want it more. Sooo, I say have a piece. But just one!
If you are tired, going through fatique.. a little stressed sometimes that has a lot to do with concenstrating while reading. Distraction may not be related to MS, I never could tolerate noisy classrooms even in my youth. I blame "Brain Fog" while reading with me from our food and addictives used as a possible problem! Now we see commercials on T.V. for everyone in their late 40 to 50(ish) group for Cognium Vitamins for memory health. Enjoy your books, and be encouraged, highlight key points (just a suggestion) I do sometimes with long reads. Michelle Obama's Book was Awesome ...but extremely long and decided to challenge myself to finish it in one week; nope Try two!
