Does Tysabri Lower Immunity? If Contracting Covid19 Does Having MS Lessen Survival?

Does Tysabri cause the immune system? If so, how many days after infusion should I isolate from others, especially children and in the current covid-19 pandemic. Does Tysabri make me more susceptible to viruses? As, I have come down with viruses from our toddler grandson, on two occasions.

I does look like it does lower your immune system. Call your neuro and ask them your questions! They are good ones! 🤗💕🌠

Thank you so much. I have read different opinions about how the immune system is affected by Tysabri. My neurology office isn't the best at communication. The PA has under minded any concerns I have had, and my neurologist retired. I see another neuro in the office in October, and the NP next month. I have been on tysabri for over a year.

I was on tysabri for 7 yrs. My neurologist switched me to oral med( tecfidera ) because my WBC count was .097.

Yes, for me , I got sick easier because I had no wbcs to protect me.

The purpose of DMT's is to kill your wbcs because they're KILLING YOU & everyone that has MS.

Talk to your new neurologist about this. I hope my experience helps in some way 😊

Thanks for your response. Wow! Your WBC was extremely low. Therefore, it was obvious, your immune system was compromised. I had mine checked and it is on the low side of normal. I do understand how Tysabri works, however, I have not been given all the information on it, and have had to learn as I go. This particular question has been given different. Answers. So, did you stay clear of others for a few days after your infusion? And Now with Covid, would you have not gone around others for a few days after infusion? Also, I get very tired for a few days after and have joint pain and some other symptoms of which have improved.

I didn't know what my wbc's were until I was hospitalized for change " in mental status".

Yes, with my wbcs the way they were , I would've stayed away from other people. This , you really need to speak to a professional because I will only relate w/my personal experience.

Also, I had to take every Mon. off for 7 yrs because of the s/e .

Felt like I had the flu !
