Huge huge woodpecker

Another view of huge strange bird showing how big it is across shoulders. Almost a small vulture, but it was pecking on wooden beam, I think,,railroad tie. Anyone think it’s a mutation of Pileated woodpecker ( like this mutated corona virus)?

Red headed turkey vulture? Listed as endangered. Where was it?

Everyone in my area is telling me it is an oversized Pileated woodpecker, that they get this big in central Kentucky, and have been spotted in dead trees. I don’t know.

I think they call your woodpecker The Good God bird cause it is so big. The Ivory Billed Woodpecker is called: the God Almighty bird cause it is bigger still.

Thank you. Interesting. I have several books on birds. Used to collect ceramic birds. Had over 50 at one time but became too much so began to give away as gifts. Saved my special ones in glass cabinet now. Birds fascinate. Favorite is still the roadrunner, guess cause it’s my favorite cartoon and totally ridiculous but totally smart
