Do you have appointments in November you'd like to share? Sometimes, doctor appointments seem like a side job for us, don't they?

Upcoming Appointments?
I'm supposed to see the neuro next week for the 6-month checkup but I might postpone because I have a new health insurance and have not received the cards yet.
There's nothing urgent to really which is always a good news. But I need to write down the list of updates, and list of questions.
If you rather not miss your appt:
Call the insurance company, they can give you the info you need to relay to the dr office that they need to submit the claim. Just let dr office know you haven’t received a card yet but here is the info. Usually your effective date, member #, group # and a phone # for providers.
Had ophthalmologist yesterday and Neuro appt November 18 th for 2 month Gilenya checkup. That’s all I remember for now. It I’m sure there is some I’ve forgotten. If that’s all it will be the best month I’ve had in several.I think the new brain lesion I had last month was memory.

No kidding! You could use a full time secretary to keep all these appointments straight.
I hope the DMT is working well.
I forgot I have a follow up appt with dermatologist November 7. Way down yonder. They’re in same building as my pain management and across the street from my Neuro but no way to get 2 in one day because they all stay so busy.

Can you at least drive a classic car there?
I actually sold my gto and bought a 87 Chevrolet Silverado truck. But it’s a pretty nice old truck. To answer your question I’ve put 2000 miles on it in the last 2 months going to those drs.😁😁😁

For now I only have one. Chiropractor who I trying to fix my neck. The curvature goes in the opposite direction than it should. December is full of appointments for the first weeks. The first week of December has at least one appointment per day.
I dislike this month.
November 6th physiotherapy
13th ms nurse
15 th incontinence nurse
19th dentist for filling
22 nd rehabilitations doc
27th occupational physiotherapy
Such a happy month but it finishes well with our anniversary on the 30th.
Blessings Jimeka 😊
Wow! You do need an executive assistant to manage your appts. Hope all goes well.
October was like that for me. I had 5 different appts & of course they were all out of town 2 hours away. I spent more than my share supporting gas station & restaurant owners.
Qi have a Tysabri infusion in 7 hours (yes. I should be asleep and yet I’m not). My 6 month neuro appt is mid December. Just had MRIs done and the neurologist called to tell me that there are No new lesions and no change in the current lesions so all is goodA
Neuro follow up on the 7th. Debating if I’ll ask about making Ocrevus infusions every 5 rather than every 6 mos.
I started to have symptoms creep before the last infusion and haven’t bounced back completely. I wonder if preventing that crap gap with earlier infusions would help...
My nutrition has been slipping. That’s probably the first thing I should address.
The 2nd is the Florida weather...looking forward to some cooler temps someday...
Thanks! For listening 😊
There is another pharmaceutical company that is working on a monthly injection that will rival ocrevus. The company is going for FDA approval at the end of 2019. I really don’t want to go back to self-injections but I’d consider it to avoid the gap. Meds name is Ofatumumab. (I hope my info is correct and I understood it correctly. My brain isn’t as reliable anymore.)
I read about this. I think that there was something about it but I don’t recall that didn’t seem like it would be quite as good. It might’ve been something about wearing off before the next injection but I honestly don’t remember… We can be helpful
I did 44 doses of tysabri and the last week was always a rough one b/c the med was wearing off. I’m use to a rough week. I’ve only done the 2 half doses of ocrevus so far and I’m definitely worried about the last 6 weeks before the first full dose. Christmas could be awful. Jan. 23rd is my first full dose. I’m meeting with my neuro next Friday to discuss symptom control until the first full dose. I really want to avoid steroids if possible!
The earlier infusion sound likes a good idea. Come visit me here, and you'll have lovely temperatures.
Let us know what your neuro says about infusions every 5 months. I’m going to try and remember to ask my neuro the same. I’m having the worst fatigue. I’ve always had fatigue but this is ridiculous. I used to have this same problem for the week prior to my Tysabri infusions. One week is tolerable...this is not.
I am suppose to go to neuro for blood test.my dr.wants to see if ocrevus is still in my system,my next infusion is january ,but if drug is gone, then we can ask insurance to pay for it earlier than 6 months.I feel like I need it at 5 months.it is going to depend how I feel,do I or don't I ?
October, November, and December is what I call “year end whirlwind of white coat visits.” Ugh! I only have one for November though, which is my annual well adult exam. I’ll have my lipid panel checked and the flu shot. No anti-vaxxer comments please. My sibling gets the flu every year and he refuses to get the flu shot. Someone has to stay healthy to drive him to the doctor. Tag, I’m it. 🙄
2 week baby checks! I have to schedule eye and PCP but keep forgetting 😬🤦♀️
Every 2 weeks...the stork is coming 😊
It's really getting close! I can hardly wait, but I know you are a thousand times more thrilled.
Yes!! 🥰 She’s also sitting on my guts, eating and sleeping is getting tricky 😵

I have two more dermatology appointments - Mohs surgical procedures to remove basal cell carcinomas - in November. I just had two this week...I already look like I'm wearing a custom made Halloween costume with the stitches and bandages.
Just curious, has anyone else have any basal cells pop up while on Gilenya?
I'm sorry to hear about the cancer. You're smart to take care of them.
November appointments:
Cracked tooth filling on the 20th (I will be thinking of you, jimeka )
Senior flu shot before Thanksgiving (Gobble, Gobble)
Keep Smiling,
Carole
Senior flu shot, what’s all that about? It was only your birthday on Wednesday, you are a spring chicken 🐓
Senior flu shot recommended by my neuro. Apparently the regular flu shot will not elicit a strong enough response to protect me from the flu because of the Ocrevus. I am not entirely a Spring chicken, but I am not a tough bird, either.
I think I just have weekly dental appointments for adjustment of this mouth piece. I have to wear it all the time, so I lisp, sound like I'm talking with my mouth full (I am), and collect large amounts of food in my cheeks while eating, which is so attractive. I guess the squirrel joke is on me.
Of course, there are the appointments I have forgotten to put on my calendar and about which I will be very surprised when I get the reminder calls.
Ahhh, reminds me of my retainer. I had to cover my mouth when I talked.
my husband laughs if we don't both have appointments in one week we just so enjoy it ...yes it is like a job for we both have many ...years ago and of course this year we both have had one a week but not both it was terrible we couldn't go anywhere it was like having a job ....use to be just me and he would complain ...it was we had to work around them...if we were going out of town i would try to work them for before or after we got back...it was terrible but i did have to have them ...they have slowed down now but at first where really heavy....but we need that good doctor to take care of us and to make it all better...everyone have a great and wonderful day ....love and happiness to enjoy our lives in what ever we want to do or want to try ....it is still loving ....
I agree! Im going for my first round of bloodwork and follow up after my first two half dose ocrevus infusions next week. It definitely feels like a job. I feel like doctors are like my second home. 😔
I have my chiro appt next Wednesday (I go every 2 weeks). On the 11th, I have an appt with ANOTHER new Neuro since the one I seen 6 months ago said he was only there 'temporarily'. Guessing it was in his contract to not say something until he was going to be leaving...ugh. Will post an updated on how that new meeting goes.
Hi honey, the only appt I have is for Tysabri in November xxxxx ❤️
I have several this month courtesy of my little episode a couple of weeks ago. Another primary care visit, my 6 month neuro checkup which was advanced a month, ophthalmologist, full MRI’s ( also advanced a month), and multiple blood tests. I had my flu vaccine last week and am going to ask for the first Shingrex vaccine at my doctor appointment. It’s the optimum time for it since I’m in the 4-6 week window from my next Ocrevus infusion.
I've an appt on Nov. 11 with my Orthopedic Surgeon. Had one with the gp on Nov.3. Trying to get Medical clearances that I'm "Healthy Enough" to have my left him replacement. Ortho's office needs Clearances from my GP, Neuro, and dentist. I already had the Ekg, will go Monday for chest x ray & blood tests. Having clearance forms faxed to Neuro & dentist to be ok'd and faxed back to Ortho. Haven't set a date for surgery. It will have to be after Nov. 24 and before Christmas.
Nov. 24 is our 30th wedding Anniversary.. I can't believe how ridiculous I feel having to get all these clearances. They all know about my OA, MS and prior surgeries.
The process sounds exhausting. You’re in my prayers for things to get approved and for great results from the surgery. Keep us posted.
