I was at this little while ago about 5 let's make a white bass in using it for balance assistance. Since I have not seen you post in the chat room about the recess I decided to talk about it to everyone that's just jimeka.
My journey started with the weight vest about what year after my diagnosis when my Allen started getting wobbly. I had a wonderful physical therapist who was up on the latest gadgets and assistance devices or anything dealing with MS. Invented the weight vest and said I needed to check it out. After working with her for the first year and by this time that you she walked on water because everything she did help I decided to check the wait this out. I got a assistance for it through my insurance with help from my physical therapist. For the picture at off the post to let you see what it looks like.
It is a very substantial bit they of the heavy home what rubberized plastic called neoprene.. The inside has the sticky side of which Velcro is very happy to grab onto. It has a little since that is wide it's day 2 tightened down on the middle of your torso tighten up so that the best does not move any direction of then what Wartortle moves. Then there is a secondary outside zipper that shuts the vest up and doesn't serve a lot of purpose other than it keeps the velcro cleaner by not allowing debris to get near it.
To say it is hot is an understatement, especially during the summer months. It is very livable in the cooler months of the fall, winter, aid early spring.
My next point is extremely important for everyone to listen to and follow exactly. This vest is not designed for an amateur or untrained person to try to help a person with poor balance become more stable. There is a science involved to help people that need balance assistance and seek it by using this vest. Just have to figure this out without the proper training could you more harm than good in someone using the best and having their balance they even worse by the improper use of this vest. Melissa the PT who helps me with my vest is one of two people that I know of in my area that actually understand how to use this dust and help people with balance issues.
When I started out, an 1/8 of pound weight behind my left shoulder make me off like a normal person and a have almost perfect balance. I could put the vest on and go out-doors and go for a 2-mile walk over uneven Terrain and not have to even take a cane with me for balance. It was a freedom that I was not accustomed to but quickly loved and woret all the fine.
If your spouse changes the train therapist simply adds and removes weights and readjust their position so that your center of balance is as strong and true as possible. The weights have Velcro on them and simply attached to the inside of the vest. And remember the vest has to fit snugly as talked about earlier in this post. White's Ferry from a quarter pound small mini weight up to 3/4 of pounds to a pound full size weight
Unfortunately as my MS progressed my balance worsened. Over the next several years I have seen Melissa often. ddedWhen I gain weight I had to go and have the vest refitted. When I lost weight I had to go and have the vest refitted. Ask my balance worsened over the years over the years I had to go see Melissa to have the vest adjustmented and additional weights added as needed..My balance has gotten so poor due to my MS attacking my cerebelllum and reducing its volume back from its original size about 25 to 30%.The vest is only an assistance device for me now.. In addition to the vest I also need always to use a walker or other rideable device like a scooter.
If you have more questions about how a weight vest work simply ask and I'll do my best to answer them. If I don't know the answer I'll finally answered out from my fabulous PT partner. Hope this helps. Remember to take care until we speak again and that together we are stronger!. Fancy.
