I haven't been able to walk without major pain, upside down sleep hours etc.Hope.Ive been with IHS for 16 yrs and they have a new huge building(I have panic attacks too) and so today....I received grt tips from a fellow person who had been with me before. So many people go thru so much and she shared..the pain, terror and recovery...Dont do things quickly take your time.Do prework of streches of body and mind, eat etc and know that people dont expect what you expect from yourself...That going in a building first and leaving may prepare enough for another day. That you can volunteer for animal shelter from your home and count the hours too...
I finally sat with a family that had lost their precious first pet(they aren't lost they are in heaven)...that our MS empathy and compassion we have gained,,,blesses us in different ways...we have talents now that we didn't have before the disease.Being a volunteer according to your needs, and someone elses is what this world is about.Together we can make even one thing happen.I may be in bed a week but...it was worth the hour I was there...and I didn't bring home a puppy and that is real hard.Donating to shelters, people or animal...is so needed. Each have a "need" list of even used blankets etc.If you volunteer/donate, share an experience to help us all give as we can.I also have received blessings from others of which I am so grateful...it goes hand in hand.

So good to hear from you Jackie. Good to hear that you in your condition can still help someone, you see, you are still a blessing to this world we live in. I am so pleased that you were able to help the family who had lost their pet, but you also found some self worth, which is important to you. Blessings and hugs 🤗 Jimeka
Your compassion and understanding brings peace and acceptance to others, and by focusing outside yourself, the MS burden (for a short while) is lifted and not forefront in your mind. All those years of putting on your clown costume (I hope I remember correctly! If not, blame a faulty memory on my part), while you were helping others, enhanced the skills you now bring to other experiences. Well done.
I volunteer two hours a week in the closest elementary school. As I struggle to walk to the classroom, I obstruct everyone else who walks better and more quickly than I. But the moment I step into the room, self awareness falls away and my focus is completely outward. In my dream last night, I was disabled, in a wheelchair, so that insidious, negative notion of being lessthan has wormed its way into my brain. What we all forget, all too easily, is that each of us is differently abled in a myriad of ways. You can help a family through their grief, I can read to two little girls. And we can both briefly leave our physical selves behind.
I, like you, used to volunteer at the animal shelter. I need to get back. I struggled not bring home a dog, puppy or cat each time I went! 🤣😇 Good success for you! Love, Kelly
so glad you are being able to help others ...it does truly help you as much as them ....so proud of you being able to do this for others ,it makes us realize we are not the only ones hurting with things that are out of our control...bless you...
