I just came from mri (apparently it was my neck only). I asked the Technicians “why not do the whole body?). They said it would take to long. I have to wait till Wednesday, to hear the results. Not getting better here, that’s for sure. Just wanted to update my new friends here. You are all great, thanks so much.

I had an extensive set of MRIs done and they had to split them into different days. With my spasticity it sometimes takes repeat after repeat just to get my head done. Perfectly still is not much an option at times. It took quite awhile for my medication regiment to fall into place. I'm like the worlds most difficult jigsaw puzzle. 500 pieces, double sided, 90° rotation on reverse penguin puzzle! It took a long time to find medications that I could tolerate the side effects to. I dread MRIs anymore. LoL... that reminds me I think I may be overdue! Hope yours comes back quickly

Lol. I think they should make a machine to put you in (like an mri) and “fix you”. Not in my lifetime, I am sure. Fix cancer, ms, heart disease and all others. I couldn’t even put my own earplugs in. I have worked a lot of “industry-jobs”. But can’t do that now. I hope to find answers soon, cause life in just four short months is so different.

Glad it went ok. My days of MRI’s are over as I can no longer lie down, they are not the quietest of things. They sound like jack hammers even with ear plugs. Let us know your results, Blessings Jimeka 😊

When I was first sent for an mri to figure out what was going on with me, it was a brain mri. After being sent to a neuro, he ordered another mri of my spine. I know the more parts of the body to scan they take longer, and even longer if you have to have contrast and do the scan again. Keep us updated when you can.

When I had my very first MRI, I thought the ear plugs weren’t working. Now almost twenty years later, the machine is much better and so are the ear plugs. I've lost count of how many MRIs I have had over the years but it’s still not my favorite to do. You will become a Warrior. 🙁❤️

I went for my brain mri today. 45 minutes. I initially had brain then brain with contrast then a brain neck spine when i first got diagnosed and was wondering why they didnt just do them all at once to begin with. Hope your mri comes back great. Blessings

You too new friend. I don’t know what to say here. You are not alone. I am new to this (4 months) and awaiting for my first Neurologist appointment. They told me today, it is common to do only a neck mri , to differentiate ms

The passing of time has helped me a bit to accept and be grateful that things could always be worse, hoping all goes well at your visit, blessings

they don't do the entire body in 1 day. Also if you would like that done you talk 2 your dr

when I get a mri of just my neck, head n spine it takes forever and naturally I fall asleep

You don't get MS lesions in your big toe or your biceps muscles or your left ring finger middle knuckle or anywhere outside your central nervous system so there is no point wasting large amounts of time, money, and technological resources scanning random body parts where lesions won't be found.

I usually stay up late the night before an mri, schedule it very early, and sleep thru the loud noises

Hi Red, it’s MRI season! I had my head and neck yesterday took 2 hours in that thing “be perfectly still” oh man

Your MD just needs your brain & cervical spine. Didn't need your thoracic or lumbar sign.

in reply toekelks

They already did brain and told me ms. Referred me to a neurologist. (Just waiting for appointment). Neck done Friday. Results read to me this coming Wednesday.

Thanks.

How did it go?

in reply toSandydemop

It did not go like I thought it would. MRI showed a lot of blockage and damage to my spinal cord. The report said “severe”. I have a copy of both mri and will be spending the day trying to figure it out. He gave me Gabapentin, after begging.

PCP is going to send mri results to the neurologist and now talking about a neurosurgeon too.

I wasn’t prepared for that. I have been trying to prepare for ms, which he said it still looks that way.

I see the neurologist on the 10th.

Thanks.
