Good morning chat room and happy Mother's Day to all the moms out here.
I am always amazed by the sheer number of talented, artistic, and creative individuals we have in our extended family at the MSAA chat room. I want to share an alternative art form that I love to do. I love to create seasonal centerpieces for my dining room table. I never settle for plain old flowers or candles, it always has to be so much more. Here is the centerpiece I have created for the summer of 2017. You can see my signature all over it because the center focus of the centerpiece is something near and dear to my heart, horses. I hope this inspires everyone to share alternative art forms. I know firsthand how talented and creative we can be when we set our minds to it. Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy looking at it every day.ππβππ€

How imaginative and creative you are, Fancy1959 ! I like the horses. Thanks for sharing your art with us. I, too, love to see everyone's creations. π
Happy Mother's Day back to you Fancy1959 ! Love your centerpiece! One of the hard things I had to do in preparation to downsize, was to go through all my seasonal and crafting stuff and pare it down. I wasn't sure how much storage space I would have going forward. I still have a lot because like you, I love to decorate for the seasons. I can't wait to move in to my new place and start making things! (I'll have to be patient because it won't be until late in June probably. I do not like having to be patient!)
Good luck with your move Raingrrl. Thanks. And I'm glad I found a fellow seasonal decorator. We recently moved into a new house and I downsize somewhat as well. Do you find that as soon as you get rid of a piece you needed for something? It never fails, it happens to me all the time and it is so frustrating! Once you get into your new place and do some decorating I would love to see it. Please share if you can. Till then take care and again thanks for the kind input. Fancy1959.
I was reluctant to get rid of any of my crafting stuff but I had a lot so I took a deep breath and paired down. (A little anyway!) The condo I'm trying to buy has lots of storage space so I have hopes that I won't have to get rid of any more for awhile.
I've been into crafting since I was young but it took on more meaning when I was a single mom. My daughter and I would make things together and we always decorated for the seasons. It somehow made our house more 'homey'. She looked forward to it. At Christmas time, we would thank the families who had helped us during the year with an assortment of homemade Christmas cookies elaborately wrapped up in cellophane, ribbons and ornaments. She would dress up as an elf and on Christmas Eve, I would drive her around to deliver the cookies. It was great fun!
Oh Jesmcd2, you know me this is just the tip of the iceberg. Between the farm work, the chat room, everyday house chores, and the miscellaneous junk I get into I seldom stop! And usually when I do stop, I crash! Fancy1959.
Jennie62 and erash I am glad you find centerpiece calming. I always find it amazing how different pieces of art affect people differently. This centerpiece to me it represents being free and whole and ridiing with the wind in my hair on the horses like I used to do! π
When I was young we went camping in Virginia across from an island where there were wild horses and I loved watching them. Your centerpiece reminds me of them. They loved where they were-wild and free. You could say I kind of envied them.
