MSAA says Vertigo, or the sensation of “spinning,” may occur as the result of lesions in the brain areas that coordinate balance.
Yes I get it! No I don't like! I like even worse in the shower! I've had it bad enough that it made me sick! Dramamine helps ME. Doesn't mean it'll help you, but it might! I'm not a Dr!
Do you get vertigo? How bad was it? Do you take anything for it? Read more here about it!
I have had vertigo so bad that yes, I did get sick. I was diagnosed with BPPV and with a few exercises with a PT, this has all but disappeared. While I had it, it was horrible
I've had BPPV in the past, which is awful. The vertigo from MS is rarely positional for me. I can be just sitting and minding my own business and wham! The room spins, making me nauseous. Dramamine has helped with the nausea. I just wish I could point to a trigger, so I'd stop doing whatever it is that brings it on!
yes i get it off and on not as much as i use to...have learned to not move my head to fast to look at something or if i take a too hot of a shower that is hard i love a good hot shower but not now with this MS thing my monster will make me off balance bad in the shower and even worse when i get out that is my worse with it but that is me ...yes it feels like you have been on a carnival ride ...want to get sick feels really yuck ...have to take care when it hits...
I have vertigo all the time. Sometimes I have a really bad day and it is really bad and the room just spinds. I have Dramamine in the past and it made it worse Luckily I don't have bad days like that as I used to. I have been somewhat able to 'manage' with what I have to a degree.
None of them have really said anything about it. It seems to be just 'a part of my MS'. I am going to bring it up at my appt on Feb 13th though as it has been trying to creep in more lately.
I get vertigo though have never been diagnosed with an actual cause other than what got me started on the MS diagnosis journey. The nurse practitioner noted that I had a severe infection in both ears but that didn't explain my hand coordination issues. I haven't gotten nauseous or sick because of the vertigo yet. But it likes to sneak up on me sometimes when driving so I have to either pull off to the side if I can or just stop on the road when I can't and tick off everyone behind me.
The only time I ever have anything like vertigo is when I look up or tilt my head backward then move my head back to the normal position. The room starts spinning for a few seconds, but then it's gone. It's a weird sensation.
I have bad balance/dizziness and Vertigo due to ear problems combined MS. Trick - My Ear Doctor told me that when the Vertigo goes off, look at a item and nothing else and the Vertigo will subside within a few minutes. The trick on the Vertigo also helps me on Balance when Balance is really bad. Hang in there as it will be better.
Yeah, I've had vertigo . . . . but in only one eye! Lasted for about three months. As long as I wor a patch over my right eye, I was ok. But without that patch. I was heaving my guts up.That was about ten years ago, now, and was one of those things (along with my hands becoming vibrating flippers) I knew was my MS getting worse.
I have had spinning with nausea for over a year. My environment doesn’t spin, I spin. It is not BPPV. I went through PT and therapist is sure my vertigo is not positional. I have noticed that it comes on strong in brightly lit places. Also always happens in our church that uses halogen bulbs. It is miserable and lasts for hours. I recently purchased blue blocker glasses which give a little relief.
I will try focusing on a single item next time vertigo strikes. Hope it works!
