(Around 8 pm) My sweet boy is a little much for me (adhd). I love him so much & want to help I just need a little extra support today. All prayers, advice is so appreciated...๐ณ๐

Need a few good thoughts...
Praying right now, and I'll keep it up. I hope you can enjoy him without over-tiring yourself.
Take a pencil, tie a small string to it and attach a magnet to the end of the string. Then color ( Fish) on paper, cut them out, put a paper clip on them. Let him go fishing! ๐ค๐๐
Prayers coming your way. Maybe you should give him some chores to do. They should keep him busy and help you out at the same time. Something like vacuuming or help fold laundry or help make dinner. All life lessons to live independently some day...all kids need that.
Praying for an enjoyable evening for you both. I ask my grandson to โNanna sitโ rather than me child mind. He gets a kick out of the roles been reversed, itโs amazing what responsibility does for them, Blessings Jimeka ๐
Sincere prayers, 2littletime ๐๐๐ปMy 7 yr old grandson stays calm when I make sure heโs eaten a healthy meal with protein. Then he gets a big cookie. When I child sit for him, and Iโm having low energy, I play kid video games with him for a little while...he LOVES Mine Craft, we communicate throughout our time and he likes to cuddle up next to me while we play...when he starts to get restless, he likes to put on his ninja costume and use his imagination...Iโm just the head ninja that sits and gives all the commands, lol...he also loves the pool...I get to do my aquatic exercises while he swims...together we also made up a shark game in the pool...Iโm the shark...and he does all the jumping and swimming around...sooo fun...and our fav movie to watch is โSecret Life of Petsโ #1 and the sequel #2....itโs a hilarious Disney movie that adults can get a kick out of, too. You can search on Amazon prime for it....also, he loves it when we break out some sheets, clear the table and drape the sheets over it to make a fort...I give him a pillow, a blanket, flashlight, book of his choice, a snack, and some kid music and heโs entertained in his hideaway for a good amount of time, while I do laundry, clean up a little or cook a quick meal...he also knows his Mimi has a disability and canโt always keep up with him...but, I find time with him is healing for me...enjoy your sweet grandson... many blessings!๐
I love your post! You and I sure are peas in a pod! Those are all the same type of things I have done , first with my kids when the dinosaurs roamed the earth and I was young, and now with my thus far 18 grandchildren. How fun. Love, Kelly
Prayers are coming your way. 6 year old boys, while adorable, can be wearing on the healthiest and strongest of people. Canโt imagine a 6 yr and of with adhd. Donโt wear yourself out!
I put puzzles together with my 7 year old granddaughter we have lots of them so it keeps her busy. They aren't real big and when she gets to put the last piece in she gets excited to do the next one. We have been doing this since she was 4. I know this is coming too late but might help for next time also coloring books are good get a really thick one and color together. My prayers are with you and I hope this helps at least for next time
I get these posts 1 day past. I hope it went well. ADHD is tough. Is he on meds to help? I really had to think before I had my son put on meds for that. I finally had someone point out that it won't change who he is but help him be the best him. Definitely helped!
Yes he is on meds that seem to help. It's just hard for me to think he needs a pill to function.๐ But... I have to leave that in God's hands & just enjoy him. Thanks for the support.
