Happy Monday

Hi, All...sure hope everyone survived the weekend. I prayed daily for all in areas of rough weather. Here's a little something to lighten the mood: Embrace Change--Temperatures will rise & fall. Winds will shift. Leaves will drop & buds will form. And with every transition, new beginnings will be revealed. (Author unknown) Have a great week. (or at least ok) Prayers for all my sisters & brothers in my ms family. πŸ’•

My husband and I went for a walk in the Concord Mills mall near Charlotte, North Carolina on Saturday after an MS conference on new breakthroughs hosted by the National MS Society. I saw a t-shirt in one of the window displays that made me crack up laughing. "When life shoves you down, roll over and look up at the stars!" Between bad weather and MS life sure does shove us around a lot.

It sure does! How was the conference?

It was pretty good. The neurologist talked about some new dmts that look promising but are still in phase I and III testing. 2 of them might get approved within the next 2-3 years. But like all the current ones they can only slow down progression not stop it. Another person talking said that we might actually have a cure in the next 10-20 years. I'm not holding my breath on that.

I did come across an article last night about a study on active duty military that may have uncovered an early precursor to developing MS. That information could be used to determine what causes MS and stop it before it starts. But more research is needed on a larger population and more women included in the research. Here's a link to the article:
