Hi everyone. Hope you all had a nice Christmas. I had surgery on the 26th. My gallbladder sorta stopped doing it's job. Biliary Dyskenisa is what the doctor called it. The gallbladder just did not want to release bile properly and it was contracting abnormally I guess. So that was fun!
Bit of a sensitive subject but I was curious to know how many of you ladies are dealing with sexual dysfunction and what has helped address it?
My Gyno just diagnosed me with vaginal atrophy but the cause is unknown since my hormones are perfectly fine for a 38 year old woman. So I am not going through menopause. But it has cause thinning and extreme dryness.
He gave me premerin but it has not helped

Hi and good morning from the U.K. If I was you I would go back to the gynaecologist and tell him that the medication he gave you is not working and he should give you something else. I hope that you heal well after your surgery, let us know how you get on, Blessings Jimeka 👍
Sexual dysfunction in ms, how weird. Nobody ever gets that. Haha just kidding. I have not seen an erection since my forties and she who must be obeyed has a lack of feeling and vaginal dryness and lack of desire for years and no I have not gotten bald and fat. I believe it is all part of our disease. Demyelination on nerves in the spine or genital area. It is just ms nothing to be worried about, keep practicing anyway. Lube is very handy for dryness, besides that you should have memories.
Haven’t had sex for so long that I forget who gets tied up😂🤪🤣☺️. Seriously 😒 it’s no fun but like Royce said nothing to do about it but adjust and move on. Hope you heal quickly 👍🙏😉 Ken 🐾🐾
Probably not the answer you want but-TIME. I started having problems even before diagnosed w ms, maybe a year or so after the birth of my second child so 12-13 years now, so I was only 31/32! Gynecologist, dermatologist, pcp did not have answers. Age, 2 kids, perimenopausal, you know the usual. Tried Premarin, tried a tricyclic, tried the usual water based lube. Nothing helped. Well, enter 2017 dx of ms via massive flare with now added vaginal numbness and there we have it!! Mystery solved. I’d say things have only started getting better in probably the last six months or so-so it’s taken a while but at the time, especially when it was at its worst, I never thought that it would. Is this a new symptom for you? If so may be a flare from surgery?? Maybe a dose of steroids from neuro? Also an understanding partner & silicone based lube if you r able to use it is much better with the Sahara I call my entire body these days 😂
I've read some thoughts about adding a little soy milk into your daily diet. A doctor I worked with said it really helped her with the atrophy and dryness she experienced during menopause. She preferred the chocolate soy milk mixed with a little of the plain to cut the sugar. I can't remember for sure, but think she drank about 8 ounces daily.
I'm glad your surgery is behind you and hope you heal quickly.
Sex? What's that? I am 60 and at this point I'm glad my husband has E.D. Otherwise it was like, "all dressed up and nowhere to go." We hug and cuddle and that's fine to me.
No. It's more of a problem of function. Vaginal atrophy causes thinning of the vaginal membrane and loss of moisture. Honestly it's not just an issue of sex but comfort as well. Dryness is quite uncomfortable. Desire is still there.
I have gone through menopause and experienced atrophy and severe dryness along with pain with intercourse. I'm seeing a nurse practitioner with her doctorate in female sexual health (on of few that specializes in this area. ) I tried many different hormone treatments and Intrarosa, a vaginal suppository has worked the best. I also get injections every 3 months that helps with pain. Know that you are not alone!
