Today is day 6 and i took benedryl again for itchiness but it seems to only be at night. Has this happened and how long until it went away? Hope you all had a great weekend.

Its strange because i did not feel itchy at all after the first half dose just after the second. I did feel like pain/soreness after both though

Hi mm1527mm, I have my first infusion of Ocrevus tomorrow. I am nervous. But you mention pain/soreness. Where did you have the pain/soreness? I know we all have different bodies, just wanted to know what other side effects people were feeling after their treatment.

Hello,

I had pain and soreness in both of my legs and thighs but i had extra strength tylenol and it resolved

ok, thank you. My biggest problem is my right leg so I am hoping the infusions will help.

I have only had my two half doses but i have heard some people have felt better after a couple of full doses. The infusions themselves Are not a problem if you feel any flushing or itchiness they will give you more bendryl and/or slow the infusion down and you are being monitored the entire time and for an hour after the infusion. Blessings to you

Just ms in general can make you itchy but rjoneslaw is right, you need to call your neurologist and check that everything is ok. 🤗

Yes, I did but the Benadryl did help. Did you let your healthcare provider know of this development? :-D

Yes i did he thinks its not related since it was 5 and 6 days after infusion. How many days after infusion was it when you were itchy?

The itchiness only lasted a couple of days. Hopefully the itchiness will go away soon. :-D

Hi all,

I called my ms specialist and he said being that it was five and six days after he does not think it is related to the ocrevus. He said itchiness is usually seen a few days after. He told me ask my primary dr to test for other allergies. I was outdoors a bit this weekend and got some sun and i also used a new laundry detergent the last couple of days so i am wondering if that had anything to do with it. I am going to use baby fragrance free detergent to see if it stops. I was told i can use benedryl in the meantime.

Might be an allergic response to O. Or like jimeka said, MS and itchiness can be common symptom. 🤷‍♀️

My sensory nervous system is a confused mess. I can be going about my ordinary business and a random, intense itch can develop anywhere, only to stop as suddenly as it began, or I can get the sensation of cold water dripping or sliding down on my shins or, conversely, not feel my nose running until it reaches my lips. For years I had what I thought of as dead continents on the front of my thighs, great patches where I had no sensation at all. Since all of this has occurred for so long, I just live with it, ignore it when I can, distract myself from it at other times, and accept it as part of the mystery of MS as erash and jimeka say.

And I'm cautious about Benadryl. There is some recent medical research to indicate that long term use is not as benign as doctors once thought. I have it here for those times when I am bee/wasp/hornet stung or my antihistamine for rhinitis isn't working, but casual use or using products to help induce sleep that contain it, no. Like with so much, a little is good or helpful, too much may be dangerous. And of course, if the research was conducted on those who used it daily, it may not pertain to me at all. Wasn't it the ancient Greeks who had this all figured out? Everything in moderation...

I agree i only take benadryl if there is a true need for it

I would also call Genentech.

mm1527mm I have not had any such reactions, but we are all different and react to meds differently. I would call my neuro., and perhaps the O. help line and talk to someone there.
