Insomnia for 4 days now. I'm not sure if it's a part of my "normal" routine or what but it makes me really grouchy & I really don't like that.

Insomnia is not my friend
Hidden , I don't really have suggestions. You've probably tried many things already. But I sure understand how insomnia can fray our emotions.
I hope and pray you can get some truly restful sleep.
Thanks so much . Hugs
Hidden I go through cycles of insomnia. Will last from 3 days to a week. IT SUCKS! So for me it is routine. Even though it drives me nutty! Also incredibly cranky mean and grouchy!
Sounds just like me. I'll usually get 4-5 hrs a night but that's not quite enough sleep for me.
What have you tried for sleep?
I usually drink Camomile tea but I wasn't thinking about it. Thankfully my insomnia ended today. I got a good nap
Hidden Periodically there will be a post about insomnia. I think all of us experience it at one time or another. For me, it is usually one of the first signs of an exacerbation.
I hear u insomnia for over 1 month it sucks!!
I fall asleep but then wake up at 3 or 4 am. What helps me is taking melatonin extended release. I've also used Allene or Tylenol pm
Tylenol PM is Benadryl, you can get the generic and save $20. It just won't have Tylenol in it.
I used to take PM but then it stopped working for me.
Your body can become tolerant to Benadryl, I had a coworker who was up to 6 with a shot of Vodka 😵. You may have better luck with the other PM over the counter drug, doxylamine. It's blue, Unisom is the brand. Start with half of you try it.
I have had insomnia for 10 years...check with your doctor...might h ave an idea. I've been on sleeping pills for the full 10 years ...don't recommend!

I currently take Lunesta (but I've tried nearly everything). If I wake during the nite, counting backwards from 1000 works for me. I rarely make it to 996. I think it distracts me from thinking too much.
I average 5hrs of sleep a nite for yrs now 💤💤💤💤
Here are some good sleep hygiene rules!

I use to take NyQuil when it got bad. Tried Ambien once, never again. During pregnancy I can take the blue Unisom (Benadryl wires me), which is what makes NyQuil work so well. The drugs are trial and error.
The exercise is true for me. No screens an hour before bed also. I use to stay in bed and think about my insomnia, to the point I was anxious about sleep! Sleep is habitual, once you get messed up it can take some retraining. The tea never worked for me, but lavender oil at night seemed to help.
I swear by my ambien. I take it and go straight to bed. That way i dont do stuff i wont remember the next day.
I went 6 months with insomnia, barely getting any sleep to the point i contemplated giving myself a concussion. I much rather depend on a pill than drive myself to insanity
I have insomnia on/off and no routine to it, it just happens, especially when my mind is racing and doesn't want to shut off. I told my family dr. about it and he gave me an rx for ambian and that it works for me. My Neuro told me to try melatonin which I did but that only worked for a little while and then stopped. I have tried Lunesta and it didn't do anything for me.
Please keep us updated! Sorry I was late to the conversation.

Have you tried gabapentin? Its works lime a charm for me. I know its not for sleep but it settles my body enough to sleep.
No. I refuse to take meds because of the side effects.
I take ambien when needed. My neuro says I can take it every night, but my GP says not to--to take extra gabapentin first. If I still can't sleep, I take the ambien. 💕
Thanks so much have a great day.
I take 2 gabapentin (300 mg), 3mg Melatonin, and a zyrtex ever night before I go to bed. The majority of nights, I fall asleep quickly, but don't necessarily stay asleep all night. I head to bed @1 am and will get up at 6 to let my dog out. Sometimes I got back to bed and sometimes, it's a useless endeavor. My recliner and minkey blanket become my best friends.
