RELIEF FOR THE KNEE PAIN--AT LAST!!! BUT WILL IT MATTER?

We spent last week back in FLA visiting our kids and grandkids in Orlando. Then yesterday we went back to Ft. Lauderdale and I saw my neurologist who had treated my migraines, MS pain, and my MS when we still lived there. I told him what had been going on with my left knee since basically last October. He did exactly as I asked--he identified the problematic nerve, shot it with cortisone in 4-5 different areas and guess what? RELIEF AT LAST! There is only a bit of residual burning (but no cutting or stabbing) in a tiny area in the back of the knee itself, but all I have to do is change positions and it stops. My upper thigh and lower leg are totally pain-free. It's only been 24 hours so I am hopeful that the tiny bit of burning I have left may still resolve itself. I asked his assistant, who has been a good friend, to email me his notes so I can give them to the pain dr. and his orthopedic friends, as well as to whom I hope will be my new neurologist in AZ after I fire my current one next week. I hope that they listen to me! Who beside yourself can possibly be your best advocate? After years of experiencing the same things and getting the same results from certain treatments, who would know better than us what our bodies need? Because some doctors think that patients are simply walking petrie dishes with no brains, they refuse to look to us for answers when many times we have them!

Have you thought of going to Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health in Las Vegas Nevada?? Best neurologists ; helping me. You will need referral from your PCP. You won't be disappointed. Number is (702) 483-6000. Glad you got relief!!

Thanks, CynthiaS . I grew up in Cleveland and the Cleveland Clinic was always very well reputed. They had one in FLA and I was their labor and employment defense lawyer. I was able to get in with a very good neuro at Barrow Nuerological Institute in Phoenix, and I finally got the pain dr to agree that my knee pain was neurogenic and he is going to give me another nerve block when this one wears off. I didn't know the Clinic had a place in Las Vegas, and I will keep it in mind, as Las Vegas is a 5 hr drive from here and Phoenix is just 2....
