Just wondering if anyone's MS symptoms get worse during their period?I have noticed this over the years. I was only diagnosed with MS last year and on my 2nd month of Tecfidera. I was diagnosed with endometriosis 2 years ago after getting a 20cm ovarian cyst removed. I had an endometrial ablation 3 months ago in the hope it would stop my period but it is as heavy as ever..anyway I am in so much pain in every part of my body, dropping things more, extreme fatigue and clumsiness of course.
Just wondering if any other women experience a link between their MS and Menstrual cycle? Xxx

Yes; my MS symptoms have always been worse during my menstrual cycles. After dealing with MS for more than twenty years, I've found that fluctuating hormones can have an impact. As I'm in my early 50's now, I will be facing menopause soon. I've heard that menopause can "spur up" MS too.
Tbh they had planned a hysterectomy 2 years ago when they were removing the cyst, left ovary fallopian and omentum. I had only got my head around it to be told 3 days after op that I still had it. I want it gone at this stage.
I’m just saying, sorry you are going through all of the discomfort. If you ever have chance for hysterectomy, for for it. I had to have it done at 29 yrs old. Early menopause, late 30’s, great ever since!! Other than MS😊
I had Endometriosis in my 30s (talk about PAIN!) Now that I'm in my 50s, I still get my cycle most months, but my weight has dropped so low it's not dependable or perhaps I'm finally entering menopause?
I had it 2 weeks ago and felt like I was getting the Flu, but then realized what it really was.
I bled everyday for a year, it was horrible. They finally took everything away, ovaries, womb, cervix. I had it done by keyhole surgery. Went in Monday morning, was released Tuesday morning. Turns out I had a growth as big as my fist. Took 6 week recovery, but what a relief, and no more bleeding, ferritin levels have gone up, iron count is great, no more iron tablets needed and I can wear light coloured trousers again. I had endometriosis but I don’t know what age you are, so if you don’t want children anymore get a hysterectomy as you say ms is bad enough. Keep in touch, let us know how you get on, Blessings Jimeka 🦋 🤗
Thanks jimeka..I am 43 and with having ms and just after starting meds nope no more kids for me. Still feel rotten. Like I am having a bad relapse. Really hope it is because of my period and I was in the hospital 3 times in the last 2 weeks just for physio etc so maybe I picked something up in there. I was doing so well on these so hopefully it is just a blip..a horrible 1 but a blip all the same.
