I can't find my cell phone!!! It is somewhere in this house!! I have the hardest time keeping up with it.

I need a keeper!
I hate when that happens! I’ve had to train myself to leave my phone only in designated spots—though, of course, I occasionally still misplace it. Each room of my house has one spot (or max. 2); e.g. kitchen, on top of breakfast bar; living room, next to recliner and on left of sofa. It has helped an awful lot.
I may do that, if I EVER find it!!
I'm sitting here giggling mepilot61 🙄 sry! I used to do it all the time! I would have to have a friend call me til I found it.😭🤣
Now it's always in the same spot like Lilith08 😊
Good luck! 🤗💕

Hi ME,
If you have iPad or computer, download free find my phone app and call it. It rings load and keeps on for a while. That’s for I do often. Lol
Oh, that’s good to know! I do still set my phone down in odd places and then go into a panic sometimes. Problem is, I most often have my phone on vibrate (really dislike all the beeps and rings all day long), so if it’s in another room I won’t hear it.
Find my phone will ping on vibrate
I have my phone set to vibrate for anything except phone calls. I have one ring tone as a default for anyone who isn't in my contacts. Family members have specific songs as the ring tone for them. The default ring tonesounds and I may or may note answer with any kind of ergency depends on how I feel at the time.
As soon as I get home I have to put my phone immediately on the charger next to the sofa or I might end up putting it in odd places like the fridge... yes I've done that.
My next door neighbor asked me to call his phone the other day because he couldn't find it. We couldn't hear it anywhere in the apartment. I noticed he had some grocery bags sitting on the floor in his kitchen so I asked if maybe he left the phone in his car. We went out to the parking lot and called the phone again. He found it on the floor under the passenger seat.
If you can't find your phone in the house check the car.
I have checked my car. It's not there. I know I was in the house last time I used it. I just can't remember what room I was in!
I found my keys under a pile of junk mail that I had brought one day. Have you looked under anything you may have been carrying the last time you remember using it? Check the freezer too...I've done that before too.
The ringer is off. So that won't help.
It still works if ringer off😁
It will light up, but if it's upside fown, I wouldn't be able to see the light.
I’ve left my phone on a shopping shelf at Target! I’ve also forgotten my purse and even my rollator! I joke “ I’m healed!!” then turn around to get it before I fall!!😬
Hahahaha!
I just found one in the bathroom at Wal-Mart today. The lady was very glad I had it!!! I know the feeling!
I've often regretted getting rid of the land line for that very reason. I'm glad you brought this up, because maybe I will remember to add the "find my phone" app. I hope you find yours soon.
I wonder what one does if I lose the the phone-finder! I would!!
I bought a three pack set of “finders” on Amazon. I attached on of the beepers to my cell phone and if I lose it I push the “home” button to make it beep. Now I worry about losing the home button! Kelly
Gotta get me some of those!
I feel quite invested in this misadventure, mepilot61 , and am anxious for a resolution! Fingers crossed.
I know I have issues with information processing speed. I can be looking directly at something and it doesn’t register. This happens all the time—most noticeable in the kitchen. I’ll have just taken a pot out of the cupboard and have immediately lost the lid. It can’t have gone anywhere, right?! So I have to slow down my searching—instead of quickly and randomly scanning the countertops (which, sadly, are always disorganized), I pause, then try to look more methodically (say, left to right). It helps!
Not saying it’s foolproof, of course. Right now I can’t find a certain pair of shoes—insane, because I don’t own many shoes and have a smallish house. I’m sure when I find them I’ll have to roll my eyes at my “blindness.”
I know it’s difficult to ask for help, especially for something that would seem straightforward to someone with a clear brain, but let’s face it—finding your phone is becoming an emergency. Do you have someone, even a neighbor, who can help you look?
I do have a husband, he offered suggestions of where to look. I.looked in two p
Aces I thought of two.places last night, but no phone. I am Apollo Mac at ME!
Can he actually do the looking? He might see what you don’t see. You’ve probably done this already, but have him call your phone (I know it’s on vibrate) and then go from room to room and listen for the buzzing. And hope the battery hadn’t died 😁. And that it’s not on a soft surface or buried under stuff so you can’t hear the buzzing.
I’m staying tuned!
When I lose stuff I get my husband to look. He almost always finds it. He says "matter can neither be created nor destroyed - it's' here somewhere". I've proven him wrong a couple times though. I'm good a losing things. Ha.
one of the only reasons I have a landline is so I can call my cell phone when I lose it.
I truly understand how frustrating that is. Use your landline phone and call it .
Once you hear it ring you'll know where it is.
I try to leave my things in the same spot so I know where they are.
Best Wishes,
Leslie
I swear those things grow legs, run off and hide somewhere really obscure, 😂 I too leave the volume off as the sound irritates my tinnitus. I am constantly being told off for leaving the volume off and then misplacing it. I am waiting for someone to design a flashing light for it.
A friend of mine, her mom is deaf. She has a gadget that is hooked up to her land line phone and door bell. If someone calls or rings the door bell it makes all the lights in the house flash for a second or two. Now you've got me wondering if there isn't something like that for a cell phone. As for the land line phone she had, there was another machine that she would put the receiver on and it would sort change the speech to text that she could read. It didn't work near as well as it had been advertised for. Maybe newer models work better.
I’ve just been playing with my iPhone settings and may have found something. Will have to wait for a notification to confirm.
For iPhone, go to Settings > General > Accessibility. Under the Hearing section, select “LED Flash for Alerts” then on the next screen also select “LED Flash on Silent.”
I’d imagine there’s something similar on Android and Windows devices, also under Accessibility.
I feel your pain, mepilot61 ! I've gotten to where if I don't leave my phone in one of its "assigned" spots, I go into a panic. This happens if I'm in a rush or my routine gets interrupted. I'm afraid I can't give you any advice on finding your phone that others haven't given you already. Just know that if you are sure it was in the house that you last used it, it will show up eventually. My husband, after searching hours for his phone, asked me to call it. The look on his face when his pocket started ringing was priceless! His defense - "I NEVER put it in THAT pocket" 😂
