Congratulations on the appeal. I know you would rather be working, so any thoughts of what you might do with your time? Donโ€™t forget tomorrow, coffee morning, or I should say afternoon tea, 4 pm our time, come prepared with a good clean joke. See you there, and again, I am pleased that they listened to you, blessings Jimeka ๐Ÿฆ‹ ๐Ÿค—

Congratulations ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽˆ๐Ÿพ๐ŸŽŠ. I am so glad that you won the appeal ๐Ÿ‘. Yes it is a big change not having to be in a hurry to get to work. Also the change in income is a big adjustment along with insurance in the USA. Hope you adjust well and things go youโ€™re way ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ˜‰ Ken

Enjoy the retirement...although Iโ€™m suspect itโ€™s bitter sweet. It was how I self-identified. But Nursing is about helping people and that doesnโ€™t need to stop ( I get that fulfillment thru volunteering). ๐Ÿ˜Š

Not sure what your appeal was about but your post jumped out at me because I have been a nurse for 29 years, 28 in California before moving to South Carolina last year. A little worried about what will happen if I become unable to do my job before retirement age. California had state disability which we don't have here. I do have short and long term disability insurance through work though so hope it won't be any trouble getting approval if needed. I do want to retire as soon as I can financially afford to but obviously need health insurance. I guess I would qualify for Medicare if disabled.

I hope you enjoy your retirement!

Hi my appeal was because it was declined by Medigold Health here in the UK. My union Royal College of Nursing helped me with the appeal so that's the letter I received yesterday morning stating it was successful. Hope u get sorted with yours xxxxx

Congratulations on your appeal!

Retirement can but ok, even fun but you need a plan, not for right now but for a bit later. Rest and give yourself time to think about how you want to fill your days. Do you have a hobby, crafts, art, gardening, singing, reading or maybe skydiving?! Yes, you have MS but you are still alive and you need to keep your mind (and body when it is possible) engaged or depression is a big possibility. Of course all of your plans can be sidetracked by MS but do not let it cause you to give in.

You can do this and do it well!

Oh I remember that day for me. Then came the adjustment period while I sorted out my new identity and purpose. Be gentle with yourself. Give it time because in reality itโ€™s a bit of a grieving process.

Congratulations, welcome to the new world of RETIREMENT. It takes a little of getting used too, so take it slow and easy and know you deserve the freedom it will give you.
