Has anyone used Amantadine (generic form of Symmetrel) for MS fatigue? My neurologist just prescribed this to me. 1 tsp. daily.

I tried this ten years ago and it did not help me. Used it for about two months and no improvements. Did not have any side effects either. Everyone is different,so good luck and hope it helps 👍🙏. 😉🐾. Ken

SalMac1127, I was prescribed this med about 25 years ago and totally forgot about it until recently. I had taken 10mg of prednisone for a few years, which gave me excess energy! My new PCP refused to write for prednisone and wrote for amantadine instead. It is an old drug used for viral infections, but I get good results for my fatigue. I hope it works for you, too!

I started Amantadine 100mg twice a day in Nov 2017 and found no benefit at all. Was very disappointed.

I was prescribed it when I had the flu. Was allergic to it, broke out in a rash on my arms. What did your doc prescribe it for? I know its used for viral infections and Parkinson's.

I use it, but mine is in capsule form and I take 2 per day. It helps some, but I need caffeine and ketones to be myself in the morning.
