The National Volunteer Week is April 15th through April 22nd 2018

I dare say that most of you are thinking of ways that you can volunteer at this very moment. What I want you to think up,on is that the entire MS Society

and the MSAA chat room depends on their volunteers. Volunteers make up the backbone and the face of Ms for these organizations. The MSAA chat room volunteer share a wealth of knowledge that touches the lives of hundreds of people with MS every week. All these lives are directly affected by the volunteers who spend their time, their talent, and their knowledge with others free of charge. The money raised by these volunteers on the national level by participating in MS Walks and MS Bike-a-thons allows the National MS Society to expand their services and fund research that is the hope, and the future of curing MS.

During volunteer week, MSAA are encouraging everyone who wishes to volunteer by:

1. Create your own fundraiser by yourself or with a group of friends. For more information the following website will provide I formation to guide you. The website is: support.my msaa.org/create

2. Jon the MSSA street squad to promote and enlighten the general public about MS. To get more information about Street Squad and what volunteer opportunities consist of go to the following link to find out information.

support.mymsaa.org/volunteer.

Weather you sign up to participate with the stre ets quads, or create your own fundraiser, or simply spend your volunteer hours in our MSAA chat room we would like to take this opportunity to thank you. As I have often stated the chat room is blessed to have some of the most caring, compassionate, and kind people I have ever met. Without the countless hours the volunteers of this chat room put in the chat room would not be possible. And it wouldn't be fair if I didn't mention the other three Community Ambassador because I'm proud to work alongside of. Without their countless and countless hours of research, work, and creativity this chat room would not be the chat room it is today.

So I asked everyone in the chat room what is your plan to volunteer? Let's share our ideas on the bottom of this post and inspire each other to get involved in volunteer week!

Finally, here's to the volunteers of the MSAA chat room. Let us never forget that, for the general public, we are the face of MS. Let's find ways to adapt and stay strong. And always remember that together we are stronger!πŸ’ͺπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ˜„

Jes, between working in this chat room and collecting money for our MS Walk which is coming up in the blizzard we're having this weekend I've got my plate more than full. I know I probably put in a good 2 to 4 hours a day if not more on the chat room and I imagine you do a lot more than that. The heart may be willing but the body is weak! LOL

I have the silly links in my post but they never underlined or turned blue so I don't know what I'm doing wrong but obviously I'm doing something wrong. So what else is new if you know what I mean!😲

Thanks, Fancy1959 for posting this and thank you, Jesmcd2, for posting links. You all do so much for our group!

Right now, I'm not going to add any more volunteer positions, but worked for 8 years at a church food/clothing pantry. I read with kids last year at a small rural school in their SMART program and loved it, but after moving to town and not wanting to be around so many little Petri dishes, I gave that up. I still head up our quilting group at our church to make quilts for various ministries and groups.

Volunteering creates one of those paradoxes in which we always gain much more than we give.
