My wife has Chron’s which effects her stomach with tremendous pain along with her arthritis in hand, feet, and knees 😞. She started CBD oils two weeks ago and has worked great 👍. She has daytime oil and bedtime for sleep 💤. She is doing infusion of Remicade and oxmorphine for pain She is trying to get off opioid drug. I currently have a pain pump for MS and it works great, so I have not tried oil. I do have several friends that are using it for pain and swear by it that have MS👍. My foot doctor also takes it for back pain 👍. Good luck and hope it works for you if you try it 😉. 🙏🐾🐩🐕🐶 Ken
We are all so different in our responses to any drug that I am reluctant to think that anything is ineffective or effective., for that matter. Some folks have had relief from muscle spasms and other symptoms by using cannabis, though others see no benefits. I think all we do is educate ourselves as best we can and always weigh the benefits against the risks.
If you should try it, I hope you will share your experiences with the rest of us.
I have not, but hearing more and more about it. Wonder what my Neuro would say to that.?
I'm not even sure how it works. 😞

My husband who has MS has recently started using CBD oil 500mg. Started with 150 mg. He is taking 2 drops at night and it has helped him sleep better at night than prescription sleep drugs. Prescription Drugs leave him hung over. CBD oil doesn't. We discussed this with his pain doctor And she said many of her patients are using CBD oil successfully. It was recommended to us by a friend with Lupus. She has never been able to take prescription drugs. She said that CBD oil really helped with pain thereby giving enegery. She uses 500mg 5 drops. She also said that you have to find out how many drops work for you. Another thing - she said that she had always been constipated - taking the CBS oil has regulated her. But too much gave her diarrhea. A cousin even gives CBD 150mg to her dog for his arthritis with vet's blessing. I have not given it a try for my fibro but thinking strongly about doing it. Our friend also said be careful were you purchase. Husband buys his from Amazon. Another friend buys her CBD oils from the local vapor shop. His first purchase from an online source almost got us scammed! So be careful. Hope this helps. Mary
I'm sure it is different for everyone, but it helps with my spasms. Good luck if you try it. Like all life choices, I suggest you pray about it 🙏 first. God's Peace.
Sorry Iggyvair, it's Fancy1959, I have no experience with cannabis oil. I wish I could offer use some input but mine is worthless since I used it myself.
Both my brother and I have MS. He swears by it! It takes away his muscle spasms and any pain he has. I however, have found absolutely no benefit in it. I have tried CBD only, edibles and tinctures with no luck. In fact, I had a horrible experience with it using a vaporizer. My head was spinning and I was in mental distress for almost 4 hours! So be careful out there!
I'm using a CBD rich flower strain, vaped, for evening burning feet similar to but I'm told different than diabetic neuropathy. Had the pain for about 15 out of my 20 years with MS, and it continued to get worse with time. I tried all the meds my neurologists could think of over those years, till medical cannabis came along, an two puffs from a vape, magic! Gone. I was euphoric not from THC, but the pain relief for the first time in how many years, essentially instantly. A CBD indica also acts well as a sleep aid.
CBD's are definitely better at relieving my pain, and a CBD tincture will also work, though not as fast as vaping. Everyone's pain is different. A high THC strain will work too, but not as well.
Certain Sativa strains known for their fatigue fighting ability, can give you the energy to do the things I could do as a teen or in my 20's! For a guy who uses a cane or improvised walker (shopping carts, lawn mowers, snow blowers....), I can do what my MS had me doing in only little bits and pieces over lots of time due to the fatigue. With the Sativa, I can Mow, Trim/Edge, and leaf blow, with energy to weed and feed, or pick weeds! That's amazing! Okay, I still have to take several bathroom breaks due to my GPS bladder the size of a lime, but that's another story.
Hope you find it works as well for you as I found it has for me. Keep in mind, ingestion methods take longer to start working each dosing, but last longer. The only real way to determine what will work and how, is by doing your own research as to what others have found. There is a site called Leafly that has not only a description, but also ratings for effects, medical, and negatives. The biggest negative I've found, is some strains will make me dizzy, but there are many to choose from that don't. You can also read all the reviews posted by others. With the basics I mentioned above, it's not all that hard. Good Luck!
Does your rich flower strain contain any THC? All the ones from our dispensary have some percentage of THC.
Well, 4 years ago, my favorite pain killing strain was high CBD with low THC. Since then I've found a strain that has 20:1 CBD to THC ratio, and it is classified as hemp flower. The % of THC is low enough to meet Fed guidelines to fall under the limits under the ??? act, that makes it legal federally, and has been accepted by nearly every state. It however is not as sedating as an Indica cannabis. But works best at killing the pain completely. CBD edibles such as gummies, work longer, BUT take longer to work, and not as completely as the hemp flower. Just like there are varieties of cannabis, I think there are of hemp? The one called AC/DC works great. I've yet to try another. I'm still working on the first 1/8 th from almost a year now, as it doesn't take much. And like magic, it works. Just like an antacid? My neurologist of nearly 20 years? always used to tell me, the only one that works quick is an antacid, which for many years I went thru those by the really big containers. Surely that had to be doing wonders to my gut health, which now they are all talking about, and which I may have "reset" mine by juicing fruits and veggies for a year and a half?
Can’t afford it in MN but: leafly.com/news/health/stud...
I have the full reports but cannot share them bc I am in a closed group.
Iggyvair Im not sure how all this works and i don't understand in idaho anyway if the oil is legal or if just docs can prescribe.I know of Chicago friend who also has gummie bears with her cancer that contain it and takes the panic attacks away.Like many meds with other uses im sure this one may have many.GreaterExper is right many things work for one and not for another. At least their are some options.Anything can be addicting i realise, but thankful for the meds that keep me walking.Long term studies on any aren't maken me happy....
Hi lggyvair I know exactly how he feels I started med January on CBD oil wish I had started on it 30 years ago when I was diagnosed and I know I keep harping on about it but if it just helps one person not spend 30 years of cramps spasms numbness and who knows what else may not have happened over that time tell your brother nice one from me
Iggyvair Please have your brother be cautious about CBD. In our area in NC they have been having many hospitalizations from contaminated CBD oil. I don't know anything about it personally, but I urge tremendous caution with this supplement.
Greetings, Iggy, from Long Island, NY, where medicinal marijuana is legal. My husband was the first one to tell me that since I have MS I’m automatically approved for it. My neurologist told me how to go about getting it, and I did everything he said to do. I’ve gone to the “dispensary” three times so far, and that’s over about six months. Yes, yes, yes, it works for the pain. The thing is, even though I take it in pill form, it makes me hungry. It “gives me the munchies” as I said in my youth. With MS I can’t exercise (way too painful) and I’m already overweight, so I can’t keep doing the cannabis. My pain doctor prescribes Tizanidine, which is also excellent for pain. It is not an opioid and it is not addictive. Good luck, Iggyvair.
