You may or may not remember, I had my granddaughter from Valentine's Day til Saturday and was not sure how I would hold up. Well, as we all know, we make plans and God laughs.
Original plan: take Emily to school, rest during the day, pick her up, take her to dance, come home, eat, sleep...repeat til I take her to dance Saturday morning and the other grandfather relieves me til the parents come home Sunday night.
How it actually worked: Wednesday and Thursday, the plan sorta worked...until we got home at 8 pm from dance and she had 102.6 temp and a cough. Called parents - they freaked. Took Emily to doc Friday- flu (!). Spent the rest of the day nursing the patient and lysoling everywhere she touched, breathed on or looked at. Called and canceled dance classes. Called other grandfather and asked if he could pick her up Friday AM because...
On Thursday, we bought (leased) a new car...thought it would be a fast process...again, God was laughing. We went to the dealership straight from dropping Emily off at school, and 6 hours later drove home with a new car and our old car, because hubby was sure we would get a better deal if we sold it to CarMax. Which we did..but the closest CarMax is 250 miles away! I was already spent for true day, but had just enough time to pick her up and take her to dance and sit for 3 hours.
Which leads me to why I had Abuelito pick her up from our house on so we could drive both cars up on Saturday, sell the car, and hubby drive us back home. I really did not feel up to driving that far, and hubby was going to drive it up and take the bus back, but after talking to the guy at CarMax, since both of our names are on the title, we both have to be there.
Anyway, I survived, though I don't have the energy to even think about doing anything else...except worry about Emily while she is dealing with the flu 😩
