This post, is a simple post, to offer support, prayers, and hugs to each and every student, family, teacher, or community member that is still in shock or who lost loved ones in the mass shooting at Parkland Florida's Douglass High School. To many students and teachers did not return to their families last night. But then again one student or teacher not returning home last night would have been too many. 😦

I pray that no family member in our chat room was directly affected by this tragedy. Talking about or sharing concerns over this type of immense tragedy is the first steps to take in the process of healing and getting the burden of this tragedy off of your heart and soul. 💕🛐 Fancy1959.

I don't even know what to say about what happened yesterday. It just breaks my heart. And literally hurts!

Please know that I will be here through out the day o listen. And that this is a safe place to cry your tears, and vent your fears!

Jesmcd2, it's Fancy1959. By creating this post I hope to do exactly what you were speaking of. We make a great team! I only have one issue with your post.

Remember YOU ARE SICK and you are supposed to be taking it easy today and untill you start feeling better. Am I going to have to come up to New York and make you stop and take it easy. Don't you dare not believe I am not woman enough to make that happen. I can and will do anything to protect one of my best friends. 😲🙃💪

I am checking in with some friends of mine from another forum i used to be on. They live in Broward County where the shooting happened. I pray they r ok. This is a family that has lost a mother and a father in a matter of a few years. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

I read this morning that a gentleman turned this boy into FBI in September for a blog on u-tube that “ he was going to be a professional school shooter”. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Makes me wonder if they even looked or watched him🤷🏼‍♂️. Sad , what’s our country coming to 🤷🏼‍♂️😢🙏🙏🙏 Ken

Ken, unfortunately we have created a system where until the law is actually broken we do not have any right to hold, detain, or admit a mentally unstable individual to get help. I agree with you in that what are we doing to our use in our country. We put the value of human life down to the lowest level it's ever been. It's simply my personal opinion that it's time to put our kids back outside. We need to encourage them to play tag, Kick the Can, anything but allowing them to sit for hours on end in front of a computer screen killing zombies, soldiers, outlaws, etc. May our hopes, prayers, and good thoughts bring some comfort to all those affected by the tragedy at the Douglas High School in Florida.

My heart goes out to all involved in this terrible tragedy.

When my so was in middle school we had a situation where a kid brought a gun and held a room hostage for a couple of hours. We waited outside helplessly til he surrendered. It was an incredible relief and possibly the longest 2 hours of my life.

Prayers for the families of all involved in this senselessly terrible tragedy that’s happening all to often.

Had to of been the longest 2 hours of your life. Can't imagine what you all felt and endured. When I was still working, there was a school shooting very closeby. Many children shot. Shooter took his own life. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cleve... It was a horrible tragedty.

It was a nerve racking experience for sure. Turned out he was never in danger but the not knowing was terrible. Just a mixed up scared kid that let his emotions get out of hand.

OMG, Donnie! Those 2 hours had to have been endless! Hope that experience didn't effect your son too terribly. I can only imagine that if id been a student experiencing something like that I'd never want to go to school again!

Naw that was a long time ago. He just turned 40and has been fine. Wasn’t a mass shooting like schools are seeing today. He was just glad to get out of there. Luckily my dad was retired and went to school and waited with me.

We try to protect our kids from all the evil "out there" and presume that the two places they should feel safest would be the school and church. Not so any more...so sad and disheartening.
