Hello gang it's Fancy1959. With this huge surge of new members I thought this post was worth reposting. Did you realize you can have fun while improving your balance? When I was at Physical Therapy the therapist gave me a book entitled how to prevent Falls by Betty Perkins-Carpenter PhD. It's fun, it's simple, and it's a great way to help improve your balance and even eye hand coordination and dexterity. My favorite chapter in the book was the chapter dealing with how to play with ball handling and doing ball handling activities. By simply playing with a ball, tossing it, and catching it you can improve your balance dramatically. Another favorite activity in the book of mine was dancing with a pillow which allows you to work on your all star dancing moves while twirling around the dance floor with your partner, haha, or should I say your pillow.
There are a total of six chapters in this small paperback book and every single one is absolutely amazing in its simplicity yet easily accomplished and packed full of helpful ideas to improve our balance. The book is published by Senior Fitness Productions and can be found on their website. It will be the best $21.45 you have ever spent.
