Good morning chat room it's time to rise and shine! As one of my favorite actors used to say when I was growing up, "We're burning daylight!" We all understand that this monster we live with day in and day out tries to steal many things from us including our cognitive capacities and our memory function. Well there's an easy and fun way to fight back! Play memory games! It really is that simple. I'm going to list some of my favorite to get you started thinking about them. It's very simple if you Google memory games, literally dozens and dozens will come up for you to try. Anyway here is my list of some of my favorite memory activities.
I have downloaded on my notebook some fun memory exercises such as doing word searches, playing Scrabble, playing solitaire, doing crossword puzzles, spot hidden objects (and boy are there hundreds of these out there), playing sudoku, doing crossword puzzles, etc etc! Then there are a multitude of card games that you can find that will challenge your logic and reasoning skills. You can play against your computer. I spend hours and hours playing Euchre, Spades, Hearts, and you name it and you can find. You can also stretch your cognitive skills and your dexterity skills by coloring in adult coloring books. And last, but not least, by simply doing things such as using your non-dominant hand to do everyday activities like brush your teeth will force your brain to use seldom used areas and expand your cognitive abilities!
So what have I missed. Share with me and others any other cognitive games you use to help keep your brain trained and awake. We have to fight back to keep this monster we live with from stealing our cognitive abilities! Wake up chat room in let's share lots of memory boosters!

We are big on games in my house. When I want to recoil from life, I play Civilization 4. It's fantastic. I know there are newer bettter versions of the game, but I like what I like. I'm always Netherlands, btw, because that's my soccer team, HUPHUP. Or I play Plants vs Zombies.
We love board games and puzzles, and one of our board games is a puzzle that has quilt and button pieces. My favorite is board game is Terraforming Mars. We have the not safe for work version of Exploding Kittens and it always cracks me up, it's a quick card game. Sometimes I play the app Alpha Bear on my phone, spelling words for points and bonuses, it is very cute!
Too early for me, I'm the night owl. But do like to play Sudoku, hearts and other card games. When I post and make replies I play scrabble and word searches. Btw, good afternoon to you ~terry
My favorite games are Words with Friends and Blitz. I like your idea of using your non dominant hand, which is also on my weaker side of my body to brush your teeth. I will try it tonight. 😀
Well I forgot to mention I play a lot of a game called crazy jacks. It's a game of strategy where you must get five in a row. The first player to get two sets of 5 in a row wins the match. It really makes you plan your strategy and think ahead. I love it
I like doing logic puzzles. The other day I picked up a logic puzzle book in the supermarket checkout line called CSI puzzles. I also like playing spider solitary, and I found a couple of find the hidden object game apps to play on my phone. I've also started getting maybe a little addicted to Angry Birds hit the structures just right and get a strike taking out naughty piggies!😁
Like BigMar7 I love Word with friends, also solitaire, and candy crush. Jacquie Lawson has a garden that you can plant seeds and watch them grow, then plant them in your garden. For £2.50 it’s worth every penny. There’s lots of games to play as well. 🦋 🍫
