Good morning chat room it's time to rise and shine! As one of my favorite actors used to say when I was growing up, "We're burning daylight!" We all understand that this monster we live with day in and day out tries to steal many things from us including our cognitive capacities and our memory function. Well there's an easy and fun way to fight back! Play memory games! It really is that simple. I'm going to list some of my favorite to get you started thinking about them. It's very simple if you Google memory games, literally dozens and dozens will come up for you to try. Anyway here is my list of some of my favorite memory activities.
I have downloaded on my notebook some fun memory exercises such as doing word searches, playing Scrabble, playing solitaire, doing crossword puzzles, spot hidden objects (and boy are there hundreds of these out there), playing sudoku, doing crossword puzzles, etc etc! Then there are a multitude of card games that you can find that will challenge your logic and reasoning skills. You can play against your computer. I spend hours and hours playing Euchre, Spades, Hearts, and you name it and you can find. You can also stretch your cognitive skills and your dexterity skills by coloring in adult coloring books. And last, but not least, by simply doing things such as using your non-dominant hand to do everyday activities like brush your teeth will force your brain to use seldom used areas and expand your cognitive abilities!
