My primary care provider suggested I begin taking NAC , which I have now for about a month. Has anyone here had experience with it? I've read some studies related to MS and NAC with some encouraging results. I'm sure it's just coincidence, but my walking has been much better for the past three weeks.
Are you taking it or has your doctor, neurologist or otherwise, suggesed taking it?

greaterexp how much do you take? Why did they put you on it? It's common with people with COPD, how does it relate to ms? Sorry lots of questions. But good news on the walking. Blessings Jimeka 🦋 🤗 🍫
N-acetylcysteine, aka NAC is an anti-inflammatory used for several conditions, and which recently showed promise in reducing inflammation in MS, hopefully thereby reducing damage to myelin. It is available over the counter (OTC). My computer is having issues, so I can’t post a link, but one may do a search under NAC studies to see the information. It appears to have few side effects, and may be of benefit, so when my doctor suggested it, I figured I would try it. As I said, I think it is coincidental that my walking has improved since I began it, but I also haven’t had any issues taking it.
Hello greaterexp, it's Fancy1959. Since I don't even know what you're talking about I'd have to say that I know nothing about it. Sorry I couldn't be more informative but I'm at a loss here. Good to hear from you again. Take care of yourself until we speak again. Remember together we are stronger.
Looked this up and it looks interesting, just looked under NAC, has lots of good results and is not very expensive 👍 Please keep us informed on your progress with this 🤷🏼♂️ Thanks for the information 👌🐾🐶🐩😉🙏 Ken
So you take it everyday? For some reason I thought it was an as needed kind of thing. I'm going to look into it more. I guess I didn't realize it was an anti-inflammatory. I'd love to hear of your progress with it!
